1. Do Not Be Disruptive
Respect the game, your fellow players, and the flow of the narrative. Disruptive behavior, such as derailing the story, causing unnecessary conflict, or creating drama outside the game, will not be tolerated.
2. Stay In Character
Keep all in-game posts relevant to your character’s actions, thoughts, and dialogue. Out-of-character comments should be kept to designated areas or clearly marked with OOC (Out of Character) tags.
3. Respect the World
This game takes place in a dark, complex world where actions have consequences. Engage with the setting’s lore and mechanics as established by the game master (GM). Avoid metagaming, and respect the established tone of the world.
4. Post Regularly
Consistency is key in a Play By Post game. Players are expected to post at least once every 72 hours. If you are unable to post for an extended period, inform the GM and other players as soon as possible.
5. No Godmodding
Do not control other players' characters or dictate outcomes beyond your character’s capabilities. All actions with significant consequences (combat, magic, etc.) should allow for GM or player reactions before the result is determined.
6. Character Actions Have Consequences
Be mindful that in this world, especially with the dangers of darker magic, every choice you make can have serious consequences. Play your character with care, and embrace the results of your actions, even if they lead to danger.
7. Collaborate, Don’t Compete
While there may be conflicts between characters, the players should work together to tell a compelling story. Avoid sabotaging or sidelining other players, and try to create opportunities for cooperation or meaningful conflict.
8. Respect the GM’s Decisions
The GM is the final authority on rules, lore, and outcomes. While questions and discussions are welcome, always defer to the GM’s judgment to keep the game moving smoothly.
9. Handle Sensitive Topics With Care
Given the darker, grittier themes of this world, it’s important to handle sensitive content respectfully. Avoid unnecessary graphic detail, and always consider the comfort level of other players.
10. Have Fun
While the world may be grim and harsh, the goal is to enjoy collaborative storytelling. Embrace the world, immerse yourself in your character’s journey, and have fun contributing to the epic narrative we create together.
