[Closed] New game emails when option is off

Since the October 1 change [ref] I am receiving emails about new games as they are recreated. This is despite that option being turned off in Settings and no game types being selected in My Games.


I Toggled the option on and off again in case the helped, but still received emails about the rush of games made in the past few hours.

I've had that issue for months now. Every new game. Every new post to one of my games. And, they are all set to off. It started around the time testing began for the new site.

I have the same issue :/ Logged in for the first time in years to see if I could turn it off, and all my notifications are already off. Does anyone know if there's a way to delete your account?

PM Keleth, he may be able to, if he can't fix the problem.

Or just take this as a sign and rejoin

Edit: I should add I'm not getting e-mails, so it seems to only be specific people.

This issue appears to be resolved?

The last New Game notification I received was for Keleth's Test game. I did not receive a notification for the W.Y.R.D.S. Happening game from 8 hours later.

I am once more getting notifications for game posts beginning last night.

Could this be related to the New Game Notifications section at the bottom of https://gamersplane.com/games/my/?

That was empty for me when I posted the bug report, but now I see everything (except Pathfinder2e) is marked as selected.

I did not get any new notifications recently. I have, once again, turned off all the selections in My Games, let's see if turning them off makes it start sending notification emails again despite the option being off in Settings.

I wouldn't think so. All three of my game notifications that popped up in my email were for a game that's been ongoing for a while now.

That might be a different issue. Are you seeing emails with subject lines like "New Game: Insert Name Here" or are you seeing subject lines that say "New Posts"?

If it is "New Posts" then check your Subscriptions, else we might need to know the game IDs.

Thanks. Yes. That one thread was in my subscriptions. It must have been ticked with an errant cursor some time in the past.

As for the New Game notifications: Those all stopped with Keleth's test game, as mentioned above.

I had some weirdness on my Subscriptions list as well. I unticked a few old games and the unknown ones went away. (I am sorry I did not get a screenshot first.):

Yah, sorry, there was some bad logic in sending new game mails. That's been fixed since.
