Talk about whatever!

Welcome everyone! Glad to have you all here. It looks like everyone is Rule of Cool friendly, so hopefully we can create some cool situations and adventures!

You're all more experienced than me, so please be patient. As I mentioned, I can RP up a storm, but I'm still a work in progress when it comes to mechanics.

While everyone is getting their sheets posted, two things I'd like you to do:

1.) Look over the stuff in "World Map & Lore" and decide where you want to start. I've tried to keep the lore brief. You can start in any of the civilized areas, but not the exotic ones. For example, you can start in Umbermoor, but not Winter's Isle.

Also decide if you want to start on the road, or in a place like a tavern. If there's no consensus, I'll set up a vote. Or if you just want me to handle it, I'll select your starting position randomly.

2.) Choose 1 common, 1 uncommon, and 1 rare item you'd like to have for your character. You just might find it on your journey!

Hello! Thank you for inviting me!

I will think about which items I would like for my character sometime soon (as it is hard to pick). Also thank goodness you have potion usage as a bonus action, that's such a better rule imo.

Welcome! No rush on selecting items. You know how PbP is; it always takes a bit to get a game really rolling.

Yeah, potion use as a full action just means nobody will ever use them in combat! Unless it's a potion that's truly OP.

Hi hi! Thank you for the invitation!

This is going to be fun!

Question, is anyone going to be playing an evil character?
Oct 19, 2024 11:33 am
Not me. While I'd love an all evil-campaign one day, I'd generally stick to good.
Oct 20, 2024 12:40 am
An all evil campaign could be fun but I am playing a good aligned character here as I just prefer it.
Oct 20, 2024 2:34 am
Same. I have flirted with the idea of an evil campaign, the plot being the PC are servants of a lich and the heroes just stole its phylactery so the PCs need to get it back.

But no, playing a neutral good druid here.

All sheets have been approved. Still working on a few details for Leira, but we should be able to iron those out shortly.

So it's time to start our adventure!

#2 isn't that important right now, but #1 is. Talk amongst yourselves! Or as mentioned, you can leave it to me.

Aenwyr is from SouthTamora, like along the coast towards Brixen. So that's an obvious starting point for her, but I'm open to traveling wherever.

I have a shortlist of items, but making the final call is tough. Do we need to stick to DMG items or are any officialy published items good?

Thomas is from Umbermoor, but I also don't mind the traveling idea, as he most likely has at least started adventuring and isn't just a guard at this point. so we can workshop things.

Leira was from Brixen. But she has left the island. She could basically be anywhere, but feel more are home around the coast I guess.

I'll allow any official items, as long as they'd realistically exist in a medieval fantasy world. No firearms or anything like that, if D&D even has such items.

Why don't we start in Umbermoor, it's in the center so we have more space to go wherever we please, thoughts?

Sound sgood

So what's our first mission then? I gave Aenwyn the Folk Hero background and chose "stood alone against a horrible monster." She killed a dire fox that was pillaging the farms near her home Grove and the villages nearby. If she heard of another problem like that she'd be down to help.

Umbermoor it is, then. I can start you in a tavern in Matterfort, which is in the center of that region; there will be folks at the tavern who need stuff done. Or you can explore the town and maybe bump into more possible quests.

Or you can start on the road (maybe just south of Matterfort), where you'll probably run into excitement.

Make your choice!

Ah. Perfect. I like the tavern start. It's classic, and may be cliché but I still like it.
