As a player I prefer no secrets fro players even if my PC will have secrets from other PCs.

If that's fine with settings Trakomak were born and lived early ears among Orcs high in the mountains. He demonstrated decent skills and talents despite being half-human. Half human stronger than orcs were scary to the band leader and he found ways to cast Trakomak out. Half-Orc had difficulties to find his place among humans but eventually were hired into and army and spend some of his life there until the war against Orcs started. It was neither Trakomak's desire nor army leader acceptance for half-orcs to participate the campaign.

I would also assume based on my Phandalin knowledge that rumors of cheaper housing or at least ability to build your own house on top of old ruined basements is a possibility at Phandalin. He is considering a career of lumberjack or else requiring decent strength and not yet considering adventuring life-style

As for the childhood it don't need to be the mountains where game events take place - I don't want to have extra knowledge. It could be Crag Mountains or other location of the sword mountains.

Question: can I pick Feat from Xanathar's Guide to Everything? I'm looking into Orcish Fury. Don't really want to be picking GWM - it is OP at lvl 1 .

That feat is fine.

That all sounds good, so maybe your tribe wandered farther south, like past Baulders Gate. You joined the city guard of a smaller town down there but had to leave when fighting with orcs broke out. You heard of Phandalin and decided to try your luck there.
