Character Creation

Any fifth edition character class or race is fine with me. Once again there won't be much nitty-gritty dungeon-delving stuff, so I won't lord over the specifics of your character sheet so much. Make a 3rd level character. Most of the staff and regulars in Ragnar's can handle themselves.

More important is your character's backstory/personality. Do they have family or friends in Port Brokentower? Why are they in Ragnar's so frequently? What's at stake for them?

Maybe make up a few characters that come through Ragnar's, frequently or infrequently. Just a name and a personality trait or two will do.

Hey - I've submitted my character sheet.

As for your questions:

Backstory: Yeona is a young elven lady hailing from the quiet comfort of the Western Isles. Bored of the quaint life (and yearning for an adventure to sweep her off her feet), she ventured to Donistair to study after her uncle came to visit from the east. Off she went, and she lived in one of the great cities for a couple of years, hosted by her uncle's family. The atmosphere of the city soon turned as the Second Great War loomed. Her cousins and aunt had decided to seek refuge in the west, but the wartime taxes meant funds were tight. Yeona and her uncle remained in the city as the tension surmounted.

The war broke out. The city, close to the border, became a hotspot of conflict. On the eve of the deciding battle, Yeona snuck out, beginning her long passage to Port Brokentower. She had gotten word that one of her cousins was already there, and that there was a chance they could go west together.

The journey to the port was difficult enough - Yeona met all kinds of characters and survived unexpected perils which plagued the path to Port Brokentower. The glimmer of hope helped her persevere, but that would soon vanish when she reached Port Brokentower. A cascade of complications began: her cousin had gone off to Winterstone, she had run out funds, and the tension lingered here, quiet but dangerous. Ragnar's was the solution. Days would become weeks quickly enough, which turned into months. Yeona, ever quiet and patient, kept her ears peeled, waiting for her golden chance.

Personality: Quiet, reserved, and calculating, Yeona is contemplative. She keeps a low profile to avoid attention and lives through humble means. But when the right opportunity presents itself, Yeona never hesitates, making sure to see things through, even if it can be to their bitter ends. Calm but not meek, Yeona avoids conflict through guile as much as charm as she navigates the intricate web of people in Port Brokentower. She feels a deep sense of homesickness, knowing the only remedy is her feet on the western shores.

Ragnar's: She works there for both money and intel.

Regulars:
- Nils, dwarf man: snarky, proud, generous
- Evelyn, elven woman: guest singer who frequents and performs occasionally, cunning & charming
- Jimmy, human man: naive, jovial, new to town.

Let me know if you want anything else. :)
