A place to discuss expectations and ask questions before gameplay. You may also use this thread to establish your relationships with one another if any.

Expectation:
"No, Mr. Bond. I expect you to die!"
(Actually I don't I can't tell you a story if you do that)

Thank you for the invite and excited to build this game with everyone! The intro really helped set up the atmosphere!

I am guessing our characters will have been recruited in the 1990s or early 2000s by billionaire Doctor Daniel Jackson?

Thats a good question!

Do wewant to play in the modern world or the 90s? I being born in '89 think the '90's were the coolest! But today we have cooler toys. A modern game would certainly be very different.

One thing I can answer: He is NOT Dr. Daniel Jackson, that would get me sued. His name is Justice ****son, I don't know his last name, because he will be named after whomever is Playing Col. Jack O'Neil's alter ego.

As to whether he recruited you or not. That depends if you are a civilian attachè or a member of the USAF.

Happy to play.
'85 myself. I am good either way :)

Welcome to the game, good to have you.

It a good time to open a dialogue about who wants to play what.

Well, I was born in 84, so I really rember the 90s (little bit of the 80's) but I'm good either way. Thanks for inviting me!

Welcome to the game! Looking forward to it.

It sounds like we're leaning towards the 90s or original setting of the movie. I'm willing to play whatever role is needed, but kind of leaning to a medical doctor or nurse.

So we are basing our characters on the OG Sg1? O'Neill, Jackson, Kawalsky .. maybe by extension to the show also Carter(?)
How close should we stick to their skills and personalities?
Humans only, right? thx

Just the roles and archetypes, it will be hard not to include SG-1 as it has been so beloved. The character is up to you the actor. The idea is to be new, so keep that in mind.

Justice is going to be similar to Dr. Daniel Jackson because I am very much like the guy. But he will be less Han Solo/Indiana Jones more just a primal obsessed nerd.

I'd like to play a scientist. I don't have a background yet, but I'm leaning towards a scientist. I think they're focus will be more social, an ethnographer maybe?

Hmm only two votes on my poll

I'm 90s kid! (87)

I just worked out how the website works. Apologies.

Should I start thinking about character creation?

I'm watching the movie tonight!

I'm thinking some kind of doctor/medic type. I'm a nurse so playing it safe with this one.

Lending medical expertise to the fiction will be most beneficial to the story. I only know first aid and street chemistry and will trust in your expertise. Indicated by the poll we have 2:1 for the 90s.

To move things along we will go with the 90's.

Moving forward please indicate whether you are a civilian or military actor.

I will go with whatever makes the most sense for the narrative - field medic in a combat capacity for a military role or civilian doctor who's spent his life repatriating civilians back to his home country from various adverse events. [Usually via helicopter]

I'll be military. 90s are fine :)

I don't have any expertise but will try to mimic the tone as best as I can 😁

Don't worry most former service members don't have any expertise. I was in the USMC near 7 years and hardly remember any of it.

Sure, Joms. I believe you ... ;)

You manage to sound pretty knowledgeable whenever you play military. See I am truly clueless - just googled USMC 😅

Maybe I will go with a military person instead to balance the group, two civilians and two military. I was thinking of an Engineer Officer who is trying to live up to their military family's expectations. I really have no knowledge either so please let me know if the character's actions/dialogue need to be adjusted!
