Chapter 7 - The Heartlands Campaign

Victory: Elite Styrovite warriors desert en masse. Their leaders swear an oath of surrender in exchange for being allowed to flee from Lannia alive. With the Styrovites gone, some Lannians wish to be rid of the Orcs as well.

Warps:

New laws are made to control the Orcs. Lannians are appointed to enforce the laws on Orcs exclusively. -1 Loyalty.
Orcs are set to work building terrifying war machines in preparation for future conflicts. +1 Clever.
Orcs are granted swathes of land, depopulated by the war, where they can build farms and homes. +1 Numbers.

Shifts:

Make the Orcs smaller. Move them down the size scale by one. -1 Brute. +1 Numbers.
Educate the Orcs. Write one skill they learn. -1 Loyalty. +1 Clever.

Chapter 6 - The Harrowing of Styrovia

Results

Victory: Reports from the field indicate that our Orcs have forced a third of Styrovite regiments to retreat in order to protect their own lands. Additionally, all Styrovite territories and frontlines are facing food shortages. Perhaps the Orcs' guerilla tactics have turned the tide?

Warps:

All Orcs possess a deep cruelty. +1 Clever.
The Orcs adopt a rigid code of martial honor and hierarchy. +1 Loyalty.
Orcs begin to experiment with disturbing, forbidden magic. Describe it. +1 Clever.
The Council trained the Orcs in the black art of necromancy, allowing them to raise dead enemies to fight alongside the dark Shamans of War.

Chapter 5 - The Siege of Worm Hill

Results

Defeat: the Orcs at Worm Hill are ground down slowly but surely. By autumn, few are left alive and the fortress must be abandoned. A new muster of Orcs must carry all of Lannia’s hopes. -1 Numbers.

Warps:
The Orcs begin to forge vicious weapons of their own design. +1 Clever and +1 Brute.
Bloodhilt Spears
A broad-tipped spear with channels built into the blade to funnel blood down to its etched handle. Some orcs believe this "blood channeling" fuels the wielder’s strength in prolonged battles.
Tusk-Shard Hammer
A heavy, iron-bound club studded with shards of broken mammoth tusk.


The Council works with gifted Orcs to develop a system of battle-magic for their use. +1 Clever.
Over many months, the Council trains a new class of Orc shaman in a style of battle-magic the Orcs dub, Gharkul Vosh ("Blood Fury"). The shamans' incantations forge a link between shaman, war band, and a bestial blood spirit, harnessing the feral energies of rage and pain to unleash devastating, primal sorcery on the battlefield.

Chapter 4 - The Rescue at Cynoceph

Orc rescuers arrive with little time to spare. After a tense standoff, the Styrovites panic and the royals are slain. The remaining line of succession is murky. Multiple claimants fight for the throne of Lannia even as the country burns.

Chapter 3 - The Slaughter of Shrike Forest

A terrible defeat. Outnumbered, outsmarted, and sorely outmaneuvered, our forces were routed before they even gained their bearings.

Chapter 2

Creation Story:

Only some Lannians can be turned into Orcs: female orphans & criminals. If numbers are too low, then Council may need to recruit women from the ranks of the destitute. The Council hopes to balance the need to create fierce warriors with needing to keep those warriors’ desires in check. The Council debated how to choose their subjects and a member posited female orphans and criminals as fitting the Council’s needs.
