Changing DM/GM in an existing game

Hello-
I know there is a mechanic already in place to add someone else in your game as a GM/DM. My question is, once that is done is there a way for the previous DM to become a player in the game?

I do not believe so. Maybe @Keleth is able to remove the original GM's GM permissions.
