Mistamere Castle

The sound of the bowstring releasing echoed through the air, followed by the unmistakable 'thwack' as her arrow found its mark. The hobgoblin had not even seen it coming. One moment it was standing in the courtyard, the next it was lying still on the ground, a shaft protruding from his throat.

Panic immediately erupted in the courtyard as the other goblins and hobgoblins shrieked and scattered. They darted around frantically, searching for any sign of the unseen assailant, each creature pointing in a different direction, unsure of where the deadly projectile had originated.

Will walks to a slit and tosses his dagger at the nearest hobgoblin!

Firing arrows down at the courtyard was, predictably, more accurate than throwing daggers. The goblins were still panicking, but some of the more battle hardened ones were already trying to make sense of the situation. A couple have spotted you up at the windows and yelled warning at the rest. It wont take much longer before they get their act together.

Goblins are notorious cowards. The moment they realized rocks, daggers, and arrows were raining down from the second floor, they did what was instinctive to their kind: ran away. It was every goblin for themselves, with the stronger ones shoving women and ‘goblets’ aside,—or worse, trampling over them as they fled. One unfortunate goblin was struck squarely on the shoulder by a rock, howling in pain as staggered to the ground. Another was hit squarely in the head and continued walking about the courtyard dazed and confused, unsure in which direction it should be running.

Charging into the haunted castle was out of the question for most all of them, but a handful of younger, more reckless goblins paused to hurl rocks back through the window. Maybe, just maybe, they'd get lucky and earn respect among their brethren by hurting one of the adventurers.

Blinded by the light of the sun, the goblin's throws were wild and sloppy. Almost all of them fell short of their mark, and the one or two that made it high enough slammed uselessly against the stone walls. The realization of how pointless it was to stand and fight, it looked that even the few foolhardy youngsters were ready to turn their backs and flee with the rest.
