Mistress Dusklight


This Amurun (Catfolk) is the manager of the "Celestial Menagerie," a cruel catfolk who is abusive to her employees and downright sadistic to many of the animals she exhibits. Her shows are always wondrous to behold, and she brings in significant funds by operating one of Escadar's most celebrated attractions. However, the public face Mistress Dusklight displays to the crowds is a thin veneer over her callous and self-serving nature.

Some of Mistress Dusklight's employees decided they had enough of her tyranny and slipped away to form their own circus.

"The Professor"

The Professor is an elderly circus veteran known to everyone simply as "the Professor." He is one of the two leaders of the "Wayward Wonders" circus.

Formerly a juggler and fire-eater, the Professor has grown old and frail, and few people now realize he ever had a name other than "the Professor." Years of fire damage to his throat have rendered him hoarse and unable to raise his voice, but he remains a compelling speaker to small crowds.

"The Professor" serves as both the narrator and organizer of the "Sideshow of Everyday Marvels." He introduces each performer to the audience and enhances their stories with funny and historical anecdotes to "prove" the veracity of each tale.

Mylton "Thunder" Stendhal

Thunder is a bombastic showman and the ring leader. He is one of the two leaders of the "Wayward Wonders" circus. It is he who encourages everyone to do their best, always gentle and positive, pushing you to excel. Although he may lose his temper and scream at someone, he is quick to ask for forgiveness.

Everyone loves "Thunder" and is ready to do their best for him.

Axel the Unproven

Axel has been following the Circus of Wayward Wonders for about a week, begging Myron to give him a chance to audition. Myron always turned him down in public, but among the other circus performers, he acknowledged that he was testing Axel's commitment to circus life.

It is known that Axel has never yet performed in public, and some circus performers express overt skepticism about his abilities. Axel insists that he's ready and begs to be included in the show.

Elizia & Mister Tickle

Elizia is a snake charmer, and her main attraction is Mr. Tickle, a 16-foot-long anaconda she cherishes. It may be the main reason she left the Celestial Menagerie.

Mr. Tickle is far from her only snake; she has an entire collection of them in her trailer.

Mordaine the Diva

Mordaine left the Celestial Menagerie with one goal: to become the shining star of the Circus of Wayward Wonders. Her ego is as formidable as Mistress Dusklight's, and everyone in the circus is well aware of it. Many have witnessed her heated arguments with Myron whenever he refused to meet her demands.

Hod, her dedicated assistant, serves her with unwavering devotion. Always ready to respond to her many requests with a smile, Hod does his best to manage Mordaine's ego and maintain harmony with the other circus members. There might even be a hint of one-sided affection in his dedication.

The Flamboni Sisters

Not much needs to be said about these two sisters. They are jugglers, good company, and well-liked by the circus community.

It is rare to see them apart; they seem to be shy and draw courage from one another.

Eight Dwarves

A team of eight dwarves, all hard-working and reliable, though a bit rough around the edges. They are good company and have become much more at ease since leaving the Celestial Menagerie, where Mistress Dusklight was particularly harsh on them.
