D&D 5e (new ver.) with psionic adaption for the setting.
For mature players only.
Knowledge of the setting is not needed, the wonder of discovery is part of the fun.
Gaming style & campaign length will be determined by polls and discussion.
8 months - 1+year length. How much is scripted module style vs open-world sandbox game.
We'll get a crew together find a happy consensus. If the vibe-check isn't happening it's
totally cool to bow-out, and we'll have better definition of game style for the next applicant.

- Question or an assumption actually. Please correct me if I'm wrong:
Game use PHB 2014 rules, but we a player can't choose any class from the rules. All PCs will be Psioncs by their class.

- Question: I have no knowledge of the settings. Would you as DM write my PC backstory or at least provide guidance/assistance in doing so? I don't believe I am able to do that without understand the settings.

-Its the 2024 rules (I just found out there was a new ver) just bought the book, sounds like its just a few character class tweeks.
I'm sure the 2014 version works just as well if that's what you have, Or I can walk you through level ups.
I'm not going to lawyer anyone or anything on the tiny discrepancies.
You can pick any class in the core rules, its just different cultural/story context for classes and powers than your classic D&D setting.
Clerics derive magic from elements not deities, so some spells will be swapped for elemental ones.

Of you have a vague character idea, I can help fill in context :)

-Technically Everyone & Everything is a psion, but taking classes in psion is how you get access to that power or racial traits.
I haven't finalized the psion rules. I'm still play testing a couple different versions. I'll walk anyone through psioncs because I'm learning it too.

-Its difficult to condense the whole setting in a blurb. There are a bunch of videos to research from.
Its derived a lot from ancient middle-east, so desert nomads, traveling merchants, there are 9 city-states that act as their own small country each lead by their own Sorcerer-King tyrant like a pharaoh.

I remember reading some Dark Sun ages ago, I might even have the original source book in my collection of old D&D stuff. I'm definitely interested, although I'll have to do a bit of research and youtube watching to get an idea of what I'd like to play character wise. I know the original source book adjusted the races and classes quite a bit, so should be interesting how you will adjust the 2024 rules to adapt to the setting.

TL/DR: Dark Sun = Conan + Mad Max + Dune

I've figure out this much. Since I grow up on Mad Max movie and novels by Frank Herbert I am keen to dig into Dark Sun.
But since there is enough interest from players thirsty for the settings I will say keep me in mind as a replacement player.

It's simple, he was feeling more chemistry with the other players and their character concept. This happen, better luck next time.

I did inform everyone that had applied and didn't make it in.
You messaged me just moments after I closed the game.
There was further briefings of theme and expectations, once closed.
My intention was to leave a window for accepted players to change their mind, thus opening slots.
Apologies for any miscommunication. It's PBP so by nature everything takes some time.
I didn't mean to Not inform people, but waiting for responses before decisions were made.

The game is going very well, I'll probably re-run with fresh players in the future.
People will remember when given some grace, beyond characters, we're all just people here.
