Please review the Principles for Players on page 5 of the Cairn 2e Player’s Guide, then proceed to character generation on page 8. That is, work through Background, Name, Inventory, Attributes, Hit Protection, Traits, Bonds, and Age. If you end up being the youngest PC, determine an Omen as well.

OK, Prowler. Sounds a little bit like a death-seeker.

Name: Sable
He last hunted a hollow wolf that had been frightening travelers. Taking pity on the half-starved creature, Sable nursed it back to health instead of dispatching it as originally sent. Now, it is loyal to him unto death. It is also a great tunneler, which has been unexpectedly beneficial when trying to attack unseen.
Hollow Wolf Stats listed as: 5 HP, 11 STR, 13 DEX, 8 WIL, teeth (d6)
Sable never goes without a spike and cord in his pack to traverse difficult terrain or to create a makeshift trap/structure.
(Goodness, is Sable basically Garrett from Thief like Aline was talking about?)
Inventory updated: backpack, spike and cord. Inventory slots used 5. Do armor and short sword count as part of inventory if it is equipped? Will ask in Session Zero if I do not find the answer on my own.

Attributes, HP, Traits: Sable has great willpower, decent dexterity, and poor strength. He can take a hit at least it seems. He is statuesque, which can be difficult when you are trying to go unseen. He has noticeable birthmarks on his skin. He likes to think of them as wounds from a past life as he has heard in stories past. He has curly fair hair matching his pale face. Perhaps his name was given ironically. His voice is gravelly from an infection when he was young. He dresses frumpily to try and disguise his profile. Despite his background, he is merciful to his prey as seen with the hollow wolf or in the quick deaths he provides. Perhaps his craven nature makes him seem merciful though.
Bond: Sable once freed a Naiad from a choked stream. Was it due to his merciful trait or his craven nature that had him accidentally pull the Naiad out while thinking its long hair was a snake wrapped about his boot. In return, the Naiad gave him some Silver Moss (petty). He was instructed that if he swallowed it near water, the creature will come, once, to repay its debt. He keeps it next to his spike and cord, but has yet to use it.
Omen: Strange, tear-shaped stones have been found throughout the region, sparking a "gold rush" of sorts for jewelers and thieves alike. The locals believe they are the tears of the earth itself, weeping for a great tragedy yet to come. Sable has not been immune to the draw of these stones thanks to his background.

Oops, forgot age
Ah, sounds like we won't have to worry about the omen rolled here

Just skimming here, but the hollow wolf pet (starting with one no less!) is where I think Cairn 2e immediately starts feeling like a very different kind of game…

Let’s see how they all come out, and if we have a circus, we’ll address it. :)
