OOC:
Hope you don't mind me adding a thread. I didn't want to use the OOC thread because it would distract from what's being talked about there. Feel free to delete this thread if needed.
I've been looking for a fun game to play with my 2 nieces. They are aged 13 and 15. Do you think Yazeba's B&B is a good one for that? I think they'd love the theme, but I'm unsure about the conplexity. They are not well known with ttrpgs.

Since you guys have more experience, what do you think?

This game is very simple to understand and play! As you'll see once we get started, each chapter is self-contained and has its own set of rules detailed in just a few pages. Each chapter is designed to be completed in an hour or two in a face-to-face game, so it's designed for short bursts instead of long, grueling sessions. :)

I don't have experience with the game, but I think you should try anyway! XD Pick some short chapter which is relatively average in difficulty, run and see if either struggles with the mechanics. Or maybe if they like board or video games, you can judge by comparison with what they play? Someone into strategies or economic games probably won't mind a bit of complexity.

(I think teenage me would consider B&B relatively simple. But I do like crunchy rules, so not sure how much of an indication that is.)

They're into board games. So I suppose they can handle a bit of complexity

There are short snippets of prose scattered throughout the rulebook. Some of them include the origins of the B&B's Residents. I'll post them here for your enjoyment.

Oops, I had accidentally posted the same image twice for Amelie's origin. It is fixed now.

A question to everyone, just because I'm curious :D
How are you all pronouncing "Yazeba"?
Here's how I'm doing it: Yeah-zuh-bah
The "Yeah" is just like in "Heck yeah!" and that part also has the emphasis for me.

I usually pronounce it "Yah-ZAY-bah."

In one of the fiction blurbs, Parish calls her by the nickname "Zeeba," so maybe it's "Yah-ZEE-bah."

But the correct answer is whichever way you want!

Oh that's interesting! :) In that case, I guess you're right about the "Yah-ZEE-bah" pronunciation. But that just makes me think of "Gazebo" lol.
I think I kinda related the name to "Jezebel" like the Frankie Laine song.

That's true, hehe. I was just curious about it.
I do think I'll still stick with my own interpretation.

I'm pronouncing it as "Ya-ze-bah" (I think; I've never been good with writing down pronunciations), with the accent on the second syllable. So kinda like gazebo, in that sense? It's how it would've been pronounced in Russian with direct transliteration, more or less.

Also, sorry for the delays, been struggling with writing in general lately. :'D
