Stormbringer 2E:

Recruiting for PbP.

Travel beyond the world you know, cross the dimensions into new and alien worlds, controlled by the Lords of Law or Chaos, where the Cosmic Balance tries to maintain order against the constant onslaught of such forces, and where only hope is the weapon to combat them.

Explore the world of the Young Kingdom, or Earth in the time of the Tragic Millenium. The world of Eldren, or the World of the Five Planes, amongst a million other locale that await to be explored.

** This is a Stormbringer 2E game, but this includes Hawkmoon 1E. I plan adding ideas from SB 4E and 5E; so a customized game. Other things like spells will be incorporated from 5E, Magic World and other similar sources.

If you interested, feel free to introduce yourself...

I saw this posting and was really excited until I saw that there were specific rules forcing physically weaker women, and limiting their class options to Dancers, Wives, and some other options. Are you dead set on including this? Is there no room for a Red Sonja? Is this also not 2025, and have we not moved on from such game limitations?

In that case, I retract my interest and offer you, instead, a skeptical eyebrow.

I did not need a crystal ball to know that kind of response.

Yes, included into Hawkmoon novels. To be honest I had to do a search there. I read Hawkmoon 40+ years ago. But Stormbringer is a related part of such a character.

One would hope so, considering she is an aspect of the Eternal Champion and certainly not hampered by a game mechanic's gender inequality.

Well you got to start somewhere, gender is part of the game, no matter what. Plus if stats are the issue, Elric would complain:

ELRIC OF MELNIBONE, Noble
STR 5 CON 5 SIZ 15 INT 25 POW35 DEX2O CHA25

He need herbs or stormbringer to enhance his low stats, the theory is for an improved story-plot?

Gender related negatives, and if not noted bonuses are also added to cultural bonuses. So, for example -4 SIZ for female, but take a Melnibonéan +3 SIZ and you get -1 SIZ. If for example a SIZ 14 was the complete score, female would either be 5', 9'' or 5', 10'' tall (1D2 to learn that). I not even 5', 9'', I just under, so where is the problem?

The Stormbringer game is based on 3d6 place as roll for starting characters. I allowing 4d6 remove lowest and arrange as you want. I also allowing selection of Class. Granted the female can pick from only a few, but Thief, Priestess and Lady (non-combat type, but lots of money, but can learn sorcery in INT 16; INT+POW 32 total, same for any gender) and uncertain if people know 2E rules, they get extra skills they can add to weapons. If the fates are with you, a fine character can be created.

Also, I created a Cosmic Scale, which means if you fight for the Balance, you get from between 01% to 17% bonus depending on how close you are to the middle (to any skill). Law and Chaos is 01% to 33%; so fighting for either of the two forces in a desire for power, or an overwhelm arrogance of self-righteousness, granting more power, but it corrupts in the end.

Heroes get BP (Balance Points), they also get +10% to any skill before start of game.

Imaging a female thief with with 35% in main weapon, +10% heroine, say an Attack bonus of +6% and fighting for one of the three forces at a further 8% (+24% total). She at 59% attack. Then if in an extreme fight use a BP and get a further +20% for the entire fight. She at 79% attack?

Lose of STR for females, well one can arrange your score helps, but if one wants to play safe, place 9 in STR and take lots of Herbs to boost STR like Elric does. Play with the game and it can be interesting? Elric being weak, does not make him weak?

And yes Virtues for Law can be just as fun as Chaos magic. I presume the Balance can use a bit of both to maintain the balance?

One could age character, average 25, each year above adds +1%, I keep it for my characters to about 5% to 10%, who wants to be old. Darn I 59 years, aaagh...

Still, say our female thief is 30 years old. Base broadsword (perhaps) 64% attack and maybe parry. Dagger 74%. That not bad for a starting character.

The Extra Skills are dodgy, you never know what your going to get, especially when you are roll attack and parry separately. Still for a laugh.

Rolls

New Weapon Attack (Battle Axe): - (1d50)

(3) = 3

New Weapon Parry (Battle Axe): - (1d50)

(37) = 37

Well, that is Typical. :)

Using Female Thief (Age 30): total result: Battle Axe: Attack: 32%; Parry: 63%. Plus another +8% for fighting for the forces they choose. I not add this as like Elric, he screams for blood for Arioch to gain power. So, if Player not insist they doing it for the force in question, the bonus should not be added.

And that not gender relate, that happens to males also? :)

Still, taking lots of drugs and fighting with Broadsword in one hand and parrying with Battle Axe in other and bla, bla, bla?
