PC thread. @croese Your story starts here
Aeser sits astride his mount looking down the dusty road. Caravan guard is not what he planned for his future when he set out. The food was decent the pay was better but the challenge was lacking. Still he supposed he had it better than those on foot. Patrolling between the scouting ranging around the wagons at least kept him moving. If only that blasted eld would not take such joy from "accidentally" being hidden each time Aeser tried to contact him.

Looking around the open expanse he wondered just how hiding in this could ever be accidental. The tall grass waved in the wind and the occasional hill, though wide and tall enough to block the horizon, were gentle enough to make the incline barely noticeable. As you sit atop your mount gazing out over the region you can't help but believe he is definitely spending most of his time finding these hiding spots just to annoy you.

I will usually apply Focus to rolls when you have time for extra care, though the official rules only use this rule in combat where you have to explicit state you are focusing and use an action for it.
Though you fail to spot the scout you do see a couple potential places that could be used for hiding. After riding around a bit more you find the elf, and his companion, sitting in the scant shade provided by a moderately sized rocky outcropping.

The pair raise to their feet upon seeing you and smile as they relay their findings. Nothing but grass, with the odd rock now and again, as far as the eye can see. The pair look at you expectantly before asking So, . . . . where's lunch? It is the duty of the outriders to bring fresh water and the mid day meal to the scouts and you were given provisions for all the scouts but the need to track this pair down has put you a bit on edge. Peering around you see the caravan following the rough trail about a mile north of you, and getting a bit ahead of the of your current position. This puts the pair a bit out of place, as they are to range ahead and to the left. As you look at where the pair should be you see a faint dust cloud moving across the grassy hills some miles away. Not close, but something able to whip up that much dust . . .

I am revising my character creation process so that players all start at the normal character creation point
This means that you begin the game with your Heritage Trait, +3 traits of your choice, 1 weapon type proficiency, and 1 weapons mastered from the type of weapon you are proficient with. Go ahead and update your character to match this.
