Waterdhavian Knights is a campaign set in Waterdeep, in the Forgotten Realms, c. 1370 DR. What makes this game unusual is that you will be playing an adolescent adventurer (between the ages of 12 and 15 (or the equivalent for non-humans)). This campaign assumes that all characters grew up in or around Waterdeep. Some possibilities include but are not limited to street urchins, children of nobles, children of ambassadors to the city, or refugees from other regions that have come to the city seeking asylum or a new life.

The characters will be coming into 3rd level shortly, so that's where new players will begin. Rather than a lottery or a first-come, first-served, I will be selecting people to join this game based on their character concept for what is the best fit for the party, so please pitch your concept (not a complete character) here if you are interested.

RACES
You may play an aasimar, human, dwarf, elf, gnome, goblin, half-elf, half-orc, halfling, orc, or tiefling. Other races simply do not fit the theme of this campaign. For purposes of this campaign, you may alter any of these races as desired with optional racial traits for the race in question.

CLASSES
You may play alchemists, arcanists, barbarians (unchained), bards, bloodragers, brawlers, cavaliers, clerics, druids, fighters, gunslingers, hunters, inquisitors, investigators, kineticists, magi, mediums, mesmerists, monks (unchained), ninja, occultists, oracles, paladins, psychics, rangers, rogues (unchained), samurai, shamans, skalds, slayers, sorcerers, spiritualists, summoners (unchained), swashbucklers, vigilanties, warpriests, witches, or wizards. Age does not prohibit choice of class.

I am going out of town next week, so I will collect concepts until May 5 and will make a decision at that time. Good luck, and let's hear what you have in mind!

Most recently, the PCs prevented the kidnapping of a young girl and are currently investigating a thieves' hideout, suspecting that the thieves mentioned above are working for the Xanathar! They are just about to wrap up this chapter, and then newcomers will be invited to join.

Forgot to mention: right now, the party consists of an unchained rogue and a witch.

What system is this? I was thinking d&d 5e but I see options like kinetisist and a player is a witch. Is this pf2?

Tempted, but not very familiar with pathfinder 1e. Willing to learn. I know pathfinder 2e and Starfinder 1e, which I assume Starfinder 1e is the more similar one of the two.

The character I was thinking was a tiefling sorcerer. If there is something like the divine soul sorcerer from d&d 5e or the way you can choose the divine tradition in pf2e, I'd go that route. He is from a distant city and is part of a family of thieves. His great grandfather made a deal with a devil and he and his descendants are all tieflings. My character hates all the thievery and ran away from home. Some of his family is out looking for him to bring him back and punish him.

While on the run, he was nice to a deva in disguise who then helped him get in contact with a higher celestial. The celestial saw that his fiendish blood could be reversed, making him a divine sorcerer. If he continues to help others and defeat those who are evil, he could eventually strengthen this new blood to switch from tieflings to aasimar, but if he ever started doing evil he might make his tieflings blood permanent for him.

I'll join if you'll have me. I haven't played Pathfinder in quite a while, but I'd love to jump in. Perhaps as a cleric or a brawler?

Super interested!

Will PM you.

Posting interest!
Concept - A young child of a noble family, intent on accepting the call of paladinhood and realizing his true destiny. Ala Sword in the Stone.
Cheers.

I haven't played Pathfinder for long, but I think I could be a part of this. The idea that occurs to me right now is to play a samurai of the warrior poet archetype, following either the order of the ronin or the cockatrice. They would be the child of a well-off family who was made to practice martial arts as part of their education, and after being humbled by their instructor one day impulsively left to try and perform great deeds and defeat impressive foes with the skills they had to show up their instructor and parents.

Pathfinder 1 is very very like D&D 3.5, I'm playing some D&D 3.5 campaigns with pathfinder 1 rules for they tweaked some rules.

I would be interested, but I do not like playing teenagers.

I'm interested in playing an undercover inquisitor for her church and the Lords Alliance. The young (apparently) impressionable kid, who is sent into the underbelly of Waterdeep to seek out demon cults and the like.

I'm thinking half-orc girl, something like this

I might be interested. I would probably play some sort of inexperienced magic user.
Or I could do a barbarian and flavor it as impulsive attitude problems

I would be very interested in combining backstories through faith if it becomes relevant

Half-Elf Fighter, 14 years old and wanting to follow in the footsteps of his hero Harold the Bold, a fictional character from a series of books that his parents had gotten him throughout his years. Is seen often running from school to the training academy of the area and watching soldiers train and practicing what he learns from them.

His parents want him to stick to his studies and become a scholar, but his calling is for adventure and experiencing it like his hero in the books did!

I suppose I'm too late to throw my character in but, here it goes.

I have a third lvl Tibbit Rogue. The advancement I've seen is +0 for the race. Anyway, Tibbits are natural adventurers hence my choice of race.

I named her Katherine (Kat) Rockhill. When in humanoid form, she can usually pass for a tall (4') Halfling. This is secret information. Kat will just be a tall Halfling rogue until her secret is let out of the bag so to speak.

She was originally created as 6th lvl in D&D 3.5 but, I backed down to lvl for a 5e game that caught my interest. Going back to 3rd lvl 3.5 is easy. I am slightly familiar with Pathfinder and I will read through the Pathfinder book I have on my shelf.

Yes, I know I'm late and the Tibbit wasn't on your list of races. I hope you consider this character unique enough to get recruited but mostly, I want to play something like D&D 3.5 again. In my other games, I'm considered a good, well written player.

My post rate can easily be 2+ times per week.

Thanks for your consideration.

(Llogan Tamm is a character for a Traveler game I'm playing in but I think I'll keep that user name and definitely the picture.)

Yeah, I'm full up now, but I'll be happy to add you to the wait list, if you desire.

Okay, thanks!

If you give me a few guidelines, I will flesh out the character.

Starting money/weapons/armor/gear?

I don't think using the 3.5e PH II pg 217 chart would give the correct flavor to your game but maybe I'm wrong.

I would need to read up on the Tibbet before permitting it to be used. I was trying to stay with standard races and classes, both to make things easier on the players and myself. I admit that I am hesitant to permit new classes or races into the game.
