Vaerlen Villa

Unmarked Warehouse
Tucked discreetly across from the Vaerlen estate, this three-story stone warehouse stands out precisely because it tries not to. In a ward known for its graceful homes and genteel calm, the warehouse is an oddity—its broad oak double doors lack a sign, and the shuttered upper windows remain sealed even under the midday sun. Though locals whisper it once served a bustling trading house, few can remember ever seeing a cart arrive or leave.
Despite its supposed abandonment, the building is pristine: no broken glass, no creeping moss, and the iron-bound locks are as good as new. A narrow balcony-ledge clings to the upper story—part balcony, part forgotten scaffold—offering a perch to those bold enough to reach it.
The Misty Beard Tavern
Nestled in Waterdeep's North Ward, the Misty Beard Tavern is a four-story stone establishment renowned for its eclectic ambiance and magical charm. Its exterior features large arched windows and downspouts carved to resemble alluring winged maidens, while the sign above the main door depicts a bearded sailor with enchanted water droplets that sparkle in the light.
Inside, the tavern buzzes with the symphony of clinking mugs and the fluttering of sprite waitstaff. The staff is a diverse ensemble of exotic and monstrous creatures from across Faerûn, including lizardfolk, myconids, faerie dragons, and even a few skeletons and zombies controlled by other staff members. Many are shapeshifters or use illusion magic, ensuring that patrons never know who—or what—will serve them next.
Originally owned by half-elven sisters Allet and Vindara Tzuntzin, the tavern was later acquired by the bartender, Munzrim Marlpar, a fearless lizardman known for his booming laughter and a tail that knocked over chairs. Munzrim's children now manage the establishment.
