Hello everyone! I'm brand new to these parts and felt like I should introduce myself.

I stumbled across this site via Reddit and thought it would be neat to try and become involved in this community. I'm a virgin to RPGs. I've always been really interested in them, but all of my friends in high school and college were too cool to give them a shot. So here I am. To learn and to play and probably to annoy the mess out of my first GM!

As far as me, I'm married with far too many kids running around to count (three). What little free time I have I spend trying to coerce my wife into playing a board game or running around in the only video game I still play, Destiny. I used to enjoy writing and fancied the idea of becoming published one day, but that dream will have to wait until after all of my children can use the bathroom without forgetting to put back on their pants. I'm also a former lawyer/fixer/problem-solver who now works as a government peon.

So where do I go for my uniform fitting? I assume we get uniforms. No uniforms?

How about a snazzy vest or a personalized, bedazzled sash so we can recognize each other in public? Or a stylish fez! Anything?

No one told me we got a stylish fez. Dang I want my stylish fez.

Hi Crimsonlaw, welcome to the site. Hope you find somethings you like here.

Welcome. I hope you enjoy your time here.

Hi there, Crimsonlaw! Welcome to Gamers Plane! Plenty of games here, and an awesome community!

I would suggest you begin by checking out the New Player Guide. And then hang out at the Games Tavern, where GM's post open invitations to games they are running, or sometimes post campaign ideas to see if anyone is interested.

Stylish fez! Somebody get on that, stat! :-D

Hi mate and welcome, only have the one little one myself but she's certainly nipped a lot of the time I had for gaming in the bud so I'm finding this site a really great way of scratching my gaming itch

I'm liking the idea of of a Gamers' Plane fez, though I don't know how it'd look on me...

Welcome crimsonlaw! Glad to have you with us. Hopefully we can stoke up a fire in you that you can then either spread to the little ones (there are some GREAT RPGs for youngins; I got one of my coworkers back into RPGs by introducing him to No Thank You Evil, which he plays with his 7 year old), or find a group once, as you said, they know pants go on their legs, not head.

Any particular genre you're interested in trying? A specific system maybe?

Also, if you don't mind me asking, I'm guessing you saw this thread?

To answer your second question first, YES!

I'm really so new that I have no preferences as far as a system. Something more narrative driven would probably be my preference, but I'm such a newborn baby doe at this that I'm excited to try anything and everything.

And thank you to all for the warm welcomes!

As we're building an outfit I'd like an inverness coat to go with the fez and scarf please.

Can a fez be stylish I wonder?

Welcome aboard! Hopefully you've found your way into a game already!

I'm fairly certain that does answer my question. I can almost hear the fez say, "No. No I cannot be stylish."
