Character Creation

Go ahead and create your character based on the rules in the book. Once everybody is done, we'll go around and work on backgrounds and connections.

Good question! I haven't decided on what type of adventure I'm going to run yet, so if you all have any ideas that you like, feel free to make characters based on a theme and I'll adapt the game to you.

Honestly, I'm game with a frame like Age of Umbra or perhaps Witherwild in the SRD! It'd be pretty interesting for sure ;) If we're not going with a campaign frame, perhaps we could each discuss what everyone's good for and then solidify the direction we're going in?

I dont know if you want to use this @Dmbrainiac, but it seems that having the fear pool visible for the players increases tension

This code is what generate the floating message in the top of the screen. The flip token is a mechanic from starwars that allows all players to add and remove from the pool.
There is a downside however: Once we turn a new page, the floating message will disappear as the code is not loaded. But one can add the code to a new post.
I don't know if its cool or not, but now we have the option

Oh weird! Not a fan of the floating tracker. I have already accidentally clicked on it a few times.

There are several features of this game that aren't super pbp friendly, like the initiative. But we shall see how it goes!

Yeah it’s kind of annoying, especially on mobile. I’ll come up with a better way to keep track of fear!

Since this is the character creation thread, however, I'll ask the question: what doe everyone want to play? I was thinking Sorcerer, myself. But I'm flexible.

Also, if folks want, Demiplane has digital tools that make character creation and tracking super easy. I *think* someone has to own the book on that platform, however, and I do not (I do have the PDF tho). But just FYI.

I'm going to play an elf rogue with the Syndicate subclass.

Demiplane does make it easy but yea, if you want the full breath of options, you'll have to buy the book on that site, otherwise, it's just the stuff in the quickstart adventure.

I have made a draconic slyborn wizard, but could also try a seraph if we end up without melee characters. BUT DH is not as combat focused as D&D, so I don't think we have to think in those lines.

I think Imma hold off first on creation until we get a solid direction coming up with regards to setting or tone- I don't really have a cohesive idea of what I wanna play yet, unfortunately! What's everyone feeling like in terms of what they wanna play?

As for theme, I suggest that we keep it simple.
We have all left the big city, perhaps with a caravan to go to another big city. Under wqy we find something or is attached by something and the plot thickens.

Make it a klichee bingo. We start the game at an inn, esc
load next
