Threads marked read/unread - Action Required

Last week, I added new code to speed up the forums, specially the search functionality, and the home page. It helped, but it also broke how threads were marked read/unread, making it more difficult to see when new posts were up. Over the last week, I've been making incremental updates, but haven't been totally able to resolve the issue. Today, I added a bunch of new code that is getting us pretty close to a final solution, but in the mean time, due to the code changes, if your search ends up looking funky, your best solution is to mark the root forum as read. Things should catch up from there. If you find a bug in how things display, please report them in the ongoing bug thread.
