I don't mean to advertise and I genuenly think this is a good idea. I am new as well so this could be a learning experience for the both of us! Since we are both new here, I think we would be well atuned and more understanding towards our lackings if there are any.
If you want to, you can try mine, it's very hand off, no commitment, interact or don't. You read the smol chapters and vote or voice a question or anything you feel like. And when everything is settled, the game moves forward.
You don't need a character, you don't need to invest much time, I drop chapters bie-weekly. I think its a fun passive way to dip your toe in the community if anything. It would be risk free and laid back.
