Docked at Mora; let the Commerce Commense!

Jun 30, 2025 4:56 am
May 14, 1115. Hard Dock achieved at 0630. 7 standard 'days' in port, provisional departure set for May 21, 1200.

Mora system is the busiest of all..., at least in the Spinward Marches. Literally hundreds of starships are detectable, including a good portion of Navy and Scout vessels. Once within 10-diameters the Starport Authority requires strict adherence to guidance from a controller.

MISS FORTUNE is piloted effectively and reaches its designated docking-port without issue. The Port Captain's representative comes aboard within a few minutes of docking (very efficient) and inspects the ship's logs (both physical and digital) then signs off, noting in passing that your first mortgage payment is due on the 15th of the month...tomorrow!

Said Ma starts the process of 'thawing' the Low Passengers (with help? dice roll please) while the steward, Captain, and others help get the Mid-passengers packed up and on their way to the customs/immigration hall. The three mid-passengers all express their satisfaction with the trip and promise to give positive reviews to friends and co-workers.

Once all the passengers clear the ship, its time for stateroom, galley, and lounge cleaning; inventory of supplies for the replenishment order, and other book-keeping. Engineering Crew performs routine end-of-voyage tasks.

Starting on Day Two, priority is to sell speculative-trade goods quickly and profitably. Ideally the crew will have completed selling by the end of day three so that goods can be picked up no later than day five.

On Day Three the crew will start to shift priorities to finding goods to purchase and to locate High Passengers. Mid and Low passengers can often be contracted on short notice, but High Passengers need some effort to find and convince to book on a small Far Trader! (Also, a jump-plan needs to be filed before any passengers can be booked!)

Days four and five in port are dedicated to acquiring cargo. If you still haven't sold something in the hold by day four you've got problems.

Day six should mainly be off-loading sold cargo and loading purchased or contracted cargo. Once that's done, its traditional for the crew to have a fancy dinner or pub crawl as a group. (Everyone should have had a 24-hour leave in there sometime before this!)

-----
Reminder: All crew have a maximum of THREE commerce-related actions during one week in port. Plus a day of rest & recreation. Listing goods for sale on the public trading board does not require an action, nor does buying from the public boards. BUT drumming up sales before they're listed publicly, finding contacts to get best prices, selling directly to brokers or end-users...those things need crew to get out and about; knock on doors, vid-call prospects, hang out at the Travellers Aid Society, etc, do take time!
OOC:
Check the "More on Trading and Commercial Activity" and other trade related tabs in the wiki section, please!

IT WOULD BE VERY HELPFUL for every player to list the three actions they wish to undertake. Helping another character with their action is an action in and of itself, so some coordinating with one another is needed. If you need help deciding on or imagining possible actions don't hesitate to ask.

Example: Rin is leaving the crew, but if he were still an active character he might:

1. Help with Engineering 'special duty' (checking the power plant).

2. Rin uses his Steward and Medical skills as a way to make contacts with sophonts running low-cost Hostels and other Housing looking for LOW and MID Passengers. (dice roll!)

3. Rin offers to help any other character in their stated task...

AND, Rin of course wants to take his R&R, perhaps with one or two other crew, and do a sightseeing trip down to the surface of Mora, followed by a few hours in a beach-front resort where he can get in some water sports and perhaps even find time for a romantic fling...

OOC:
This only covers day 1.
Tharrok brings Miss Fortune expertly to the docking port, placing the ship exactly where it needs to be. After the docking collar and clamps are attached and locked, he begins closing out the cockpit. He has spent the extra time cruising in from Emergence well and as soon as he has the bridge closed out, he is able to make the short walk back to Engineering, where he waits patiently out of the way for one of the Engineers to have a moment. He quickly reports his "Squawks", any maintenance-related items from the cockpit. He has nothing of any serious note, just a couple of displays that could use a little tweaking on their power modulation, but it can wait until the outbound trip if necessary.

Today is a busy day and Tharrok helps where he can. He offers to assist Said Ma on the computer side of things, careful to stay out of the way and work from the computer terminal. Once the popcicles are thawed and join the rest of the passengers disembarking, he will help with cleaning and replenishment, hoping to help have the crew finish it's Day One activities as early as possible.
OOC:
More to follow. I've not had a good day of being able to concentrate. Further actions for Tharrok pending. Thanks for understanding.
Jul 1, 2025 7:22 am
After the Day One activities are completed, Tharrok head to the crew lounge and pour himself a cup of kaffe. Seeing LC sitting at the crew table going over the Trades Boards, he pours the man a fresh cup, then sits down across from him. He waits patiently until LC acknowledges him, then he says, "All in all we didn’t end up being really all that late."

He takes a long draw from his cup, savoring the hot, caffeinated beverage. "I’ve been thinking about something. It might seem particularly trivial, but as we are new and needing to build a good reputation, I thought of something we could do that is unique… or, at least I’ve never seen it. Up front, it would have a small outlay… more of a setup kind of charge, not particularly expensive.". Tharrok watches LC to see if the Captain has any early concerns.

Then he moves into ‘T-Jive’ mode. "What I have in mind is really just a sort of token of appreciation for the passengers who, arguably have the least… my thought is that we invest in a small pallet of custom ‘Miss Fortune’ logo’s towels and toothbrushes to be given each low berth passenger as disembarkment gifts.". T-Jive sits back slightly, watching his Skipper for any kind of reaction before he expounds on the idea. "the way I see it, low passengers are the most likely to be disenfranchised, so it’s possible that any useful trinket such as these is likely to be appreciated and used. The more they are used, the more bang for a very subtle advertising buck. And even if they are ditched or lost, they would still function as an advertisement. And places like right here on Mora would be a perfect place to start our initial inventory. Quick, cheap printed materials would be easy. We could start with a smack lot of, say, 100 items each…"

Tharrok licks his chops and tilts his head slightly to the left. "Even if we don’t see any direct return on investment… and even if we do it once and then decide it’s not worth it, it’d be a small outlay for a chance to be unique. Whaddaya say, Boss?"

The soft clunk of the docking latches sealed the Miss Fortune to Mora Highport like a final period on a long chapter. A moment later, a soft vibration ran through the deck plating—portside hard lock confirmed. LC stood in the main corridor just outside the bridge, hands tucked behind his back, eyes steady on the corridor display as the Port Authority’s green clearance symbol flicked to life.

"We’re home, crew. Or at least as close as it gets in this line of work."

The galley lights were already up. LC stood beside the central table where most of the crew had naturally drifted—fresh stim brew, half-wrapped rations, and the first notes of off-duty chatter already seeping in.

"Quick orders while we’ve got everyone. Tamm, Bronz, Leilani—once passengers are clear, I want the standard turnover started: staterooms cleaned, lounge scrubbed, galley inventoried. Nothing dramatic—just professional."

He turned toward Engineering.

"You’ve got two days to do a diagnostic sweep using every tool we’ve got: BIT, logs, sensor data. Think like a FMECA—failure modes, severity, frequency. If a component’s out of spec, I want it flagged for depot-level review. You’ve got priority scheduling for maintenance once we offload. Leilani, if the 73rd Fleet owes you a favor, now’s the time to call it in."

LC then looked to Rin, approaching him with the beginnings of a half-smile.

"Before you start packing up, I’ve got one last assignment for you."
He gestured to the nearby terminal.
"Use your broker’s touch and see if you can dig up a shortlist of reliable local cargo agents or contract brokers. You know the type we want: fair rates, low drama, and no that wants more than 10% of the take, that is already a big bite, but we may have to work with that."

A pause, then LC added with quiet sincerity:

"Your share refund’s already queued—62,000 credits, cleared and clean. Once you sign off with port admin, it’ll be transferred."

He gave the younger man a nod of respect.

"And don’t ghost us just yet. Kayla’s putting together a proper farewell. We’ll toast your new chapter in style—day four. I expect you to show."

Turning back to the broader crew:

"Kayla, you’re in charge of that send-off. You’ve got style, discretion, and a Rolodex that scares me."

"Leilani—tap any friends, fixers, or cousins who know the local market. And more importantly, who to avoid."

"We’ve got speculative cargo to sell. I want brokers vetted, introductions made, and deals scoped before day three."

He let the crew absorb that, then raised his mug slightly.

"Seven days in port. Let’s use them wisely."
OOC:
@GM — LC is requesting to remain in port beyond the standard window if Engineering flags a component for deeper depot-level review. We’ll keep our departure date tentative until Engineering reports in.

LC’s three commercial actions (tentative):

-Oversee speculative cargo sales (assist or coordinate via Leilani/Kayla/Rin)

-Make mortgage payment at the Regional Bank Annex in Highport.

-Assist with jump planning, speculative resale route selection (based on cargo opportunities) and plan from the crew discussed in Jump Space.

Let me know if anyone needs help coordinating crew actions or wants LC’s support in their task!
Later while everyone is cleaning the ship and conducting post flight operations and maintenance (PFOM) LC seeks out Therrok;
"Tharrok—if you’ve sent your message, good. If not, now’s the time. If Phelan replies before Palique, I want time to weigh what it means."

More to follow later today. P.S. has anyone heard from Don or Mallandyrr lately?

I will respond to Thorrak's suggestion in the next post later today.

When it's time, Tamm helps unload the freight leaving Bronz & Leilani to run diagnostics if they choose. That's the advantage of having more than one Engineer!

Tamm is concerned about the potential strike. He seeks out the Union Hall. Tamm takes Mama along.
OOC:
I think Mama has bribery skill. If not, Tamm asks for someone who has that skill to come with him.
He wants to speak with the Union Foreman to see if there's anything he and Mama can do to make certain the Fortune gets a replenishment.
OOC:
Character with Bribery skill should roll adding+1 for Tamm's help.
Later, Tamm takes a working R&R. He'll go into "dive" bars looking for small but highly profitable cargo. Grey freight is ok. It will go in the hidden hold. Anyone is welcome to come along.
OOC:
How many rolls should I make for Tamm?

I assume that Said-Ma as Commerce Division chief and Decherrek will join LC to the bank. If they do not accompany LC, then disregard in my post where they are mentioned.

BELOW is action 1 of 3 for LC

BIC: Aboard the
Miss Fortune Docked at Mora Highport
While the passengers off load LC is all smiles and hand shake towards the passengers. When Decherrek being the last to leave LC steps forward;
"Decherrek." LC’s voice was respectful, clear. "I wanted to thank you for all of the help and assistance in getting us started. But before you vanish into the bureaucratic wilderness of Mora Port Authority…"

He offered a subtle smile and tilted his head.

"…I’d like to invite you to accompany me to the bank while I make Miss Fortune’s first mortgage payment."

A pause, letting the idea settle.

"You're the liaison to the lending institution. Doesn’t feel right crossing the financial starting line without you there. Besides…" he glanced toward the forward hatchway, where the corridor lights flickered blue-white glow towards the station dock.

"…might be useful for a few observers to see a Drone like you alongside a crew like us—if only to let them wonder what exactly we’ve gotten ourselves into."

LC straightened and took a final sip from his mug.

"If you're free, I'd welcome your company. If not, I'll understand—but I’d rather close the first page of this ledger with everyone who helped us get airborne present."

Mora Highport– Sector 3B, Imperial Chartered Bank Annex
May 15, 1115 – 0945 Local

LC Rains stepped through the security arch of the Imperial Chartered Bank flanked by Said-Ma on his left and Decherrek gliding just behind. The atmosphere in the polished titanium-paneled lobby was all soft lighting and quiet money, with muzak just tasteful enough to discourage rebellion.

LC was dressed like he’d walked out of a high-caste legal office—deep charcoal three-piece suit, brushed silver collar pin, shoes with just enough gloss to catch the port lights. A captain’s silhouette, sharp enough to sign away a starship or buy a seat at a syndicate table.

Said-Ma, ever the poised presence, wore her duty blues smartly, standing out like nobility amid the tailored business crowd. Decherrek hovered with a gentle servo-whir, expressionless as always, but his quiet presence turned a few heads—more than one junior banker noticed and subtly turned off their local comm recorders.

The robotic concierge’s voice was pleasant but wary. "Welcome to the Imperial Bank, Captain Rains of the... Miss Fortune. You have a standing appointment flagged."

LC offered a tight smile as he handed over his identchip.

"We’re here to make good on the ship’s first mortgage payment. Account’s funded. Let’s keep it quiet and clean, shall we?"

The transaction was quick—credits transferred without a hitch. The older banker at the counter looked at LC with new respect as the confirmation flashed green on his panel.

"Payment received in full. Thank you for your punctuality, Captain Rains. And welcome to the Mora Register of Active Holdings."

"Good to be listed." LC accepted his identchip back, then offered a slight bow of the head.

He turned to Said-Ma and Decherrek with a dry smile.

"Well. That’s one anchor chain off the ledger."

Then, almost as an afterthought:

"Let’s get back to the docks. The real work’s just starting."

BIC: Miss Fortune Crew Lounge – End of Day One, Mora Highport

The hum of venting coolant and distant cargo loaders played faintly through the bulkheads as LC sat hunched over the Trades Board, a stylus tapping rhythmically against his teeth. His attention broke only when the rich scent of fresh kaffe drifted past. He glanced up, smiled briefly, and took the offered mug with a quiet nod of thanks.

"Still warm. You spoil me, Tharrok."

He took a sip, let the bitter heat settle, and finally gave his full attention as the Vargr outlined the idea.

At first, LC’s expression was unreadable—part focus, part captain’s poker face. But as Tharrok shifted into his pitch, there was a subtle change: his brow lifted, and by the time the words "custom toothbrush" hit the table, LC was already halfway sold.

He leaned back in his chair, set down the mug, and folded his arms across his chest.

"You know..."
A smile crept across his lips.

"...you might just be a bloody genius."

He motioned loosely in the air, as if sketching the idea into orbit.

"Low berth passengers don’t remember the food. They don’t remember the faces. Hell, half of them don’t even remember boarding. But wake them up with all their parts intact and give them something with a logo on it? That’s not just a courtesy—it’s a planted flag."

LC’s tone warmed as he thought aloud.

"And on a world like Mora? Everyone’s looking for an edge, something to signal status, connection, or just a good damn story. A branded microfiber towel from a rogue trader that brought you out of cryo without losing a kidney?" He chuckled. "That’s local legend territory."

He gestured to the terminal beside him.

"Start pricing it out. Basic run—nothing too flashy. A hundred towels, a hundred toothbrush kits. Something we can bulk order here and replicate at next ports if it works."

Then he raised his mug in salute.

"It’s a small gesture that says we’re professionals. That we give a damn. And that the Miss Fortune doesn’t just ferry cargo—she builds loyalty."

A beat. A grin.

"Also... I just like the idea of some bureaucrat at Jewel or Regina brushing his teeth with our logo and wondering who the hell we are."

As soon as they touched down, Bronz moved to help escort the passengers off the ship. He kept a watchful eye for anything unusual, subtle movements, odd behavior, though he made an effort to appear approachable. You never knew when a passenger might come back or drop a positive review, and that kind of reputation mattered now. Though he wasn't certain how well he carried off the illusion.

And though he didn’t directly assist with waking the low berth passengers, but stayed close, on edge but ready. After what happened last time, he wasn’t taking chances.

Once everyone was safely offboard and the hatches sealed, he turned to cleaning the passenger areas as requested. He didn’t rush the job. He wasn’t just sweeping up, he was looking for anything out of place. Part of him still couldn’t shake the idea that the engine trouble might’ve started from inside.

When the cleanup and maintenance rounds with Tamm and Leilani wrapped up, Bronz shifted fully into diagnostic mode. The next few days of his were buried in system logs, cross-checking data, and running the engines diagnostics. If there was something hidden in there, he intended to find it.
OOC:

This should cover the first 2 or 3 days at port. I will post what else he does after this based anything else that might happen during those days.

BIC: Crew Lounge, Miss Fortune – Mora Highport, Day Two in Port
Date: 1116-May-16, 0740 Local

The second day began with filtered sunlight cutting through the highport skylights, casting pale industrial gold across the crew lounge's table. A half-finished stim pot steamed gently beside a fresh tray of ration bars and a datapad filled with commodity prices that looked like they were designed to insult a trader’s intelligence.

LC Rains stood at the table, jacket buttoned, mug in hand, and posture unusually alert for a man on his second cup. He tapped a few icons on the galley wall display—market updates from the port’s trading board flickered to life, followed by the profiles of local brokers, contract agencies, and a few less-than-savory "logistics consultants" that were technically licensed.

He waited until either or both Kayla Hong and Leilani Nekaii had entered the lounge before he spoke.

"Morning, both of you."

His tone was pleasant—inviting, not pressing.

"I wanted to check in. We’re now officially into Day Two in port, and before I go knocking on doors to move this cargo, I’d like to get a read from you both."

He turned to Kayla first with a respectful nod.

"Kayla, you mentioned you had a few diplomatic contacts—quiet channels. Anything you've picked up on brokers who deal discreetly? Or names we ought to avoid because they still answer to the kind of people who read diplomatic cables over breakfast?"

He then looked to Leilani, his expression light but expectant.

"Lei—this is your turf. I’m sure the 73rd Fleet doesn’t exactly deal in hand-carved furniture or exotic lubricants, but if you’ve heard anything—someone reputable, someone shady, or someone who still owes you a drink—I’d like to know before we post to the general boards."

LC glanced at the trade screen again and let a faint smile touch his face.

"I’d rather sell at 92% of value to someone who doesn’t short our crates than haggle for 102% with a broker who leaves us a customs fine and an apology note."

He stepped back and raised his mug in mild salute.

"Let me know what you’ve heard. The sooner we sell, the sooner we buy—and the sooner we can remind Mora why Miss Fortune is a name worth watching."

P.S. has anyone heard from Don or Mallandyrr lately?

LC looked up from his datapad just in time to catch Tamm’s familiar shadow darken the deck beside him. The man’s words were as direct as ever—no throat-clearing, no wasted syllables. Just the problem and a proposed action. Classic Tamm.

LC nodded once, slipping the datapad into his coat pocket.

"You’re right. A delay in replenishment now could leave us dead in the water by Day Six. And if the strike kicks off full-force, we’ll be queuing behind Navy hulls and corporate liners with deeper pockets and better leverage."

He straightened, brushing off his lapel as he shifted into mission mode.

"Let’s go see this foreman. If we can get the order walked into the system early, maybe we slip under the slowdown threshold. And if a little ‘consideration’ ensures we get our crates delivered even if the bulk haulers grind to a halt..."
He gave Tamm a sidelong glance.
"Well, Mora runs on credit and perception. I’ve got a suit and a smile—we’ll see which one works first."

He gestured toward the lift platform.

"Lead the way, Tamm. I’ll do the talking. You keep me honest."
OOC:
@playbydave - I figure that making the payment is not an action that takes an entire day and so a conversation would conclude the action for day 1. However if you rule that this exceeds the action for day 1, I am okay with that.
LC walks down the corridor of the docking area of high port;
"I am going to assume that you know the way and have the name of the foreman?"
LC thin smile at Tamm acknowledges when he gets serious he has some of the information but may not directly share
"That way we don't get the run around trying to get to the foreman"

LC Rains is still dressed in his charcoal three-piece—brushed clean, tailored just shy of military sharp, but softened by the hours already put into it this morning. His coat is unbuttoned now, sleeves subtly wrinkled at the elbows, and his collar open by one notch—enough to suggest accessibility without losing authority.

The vest remains crisp, his boots polished. A slim, high-grade datapad holster peeks from inside his coat—standard issue for someone who negotiates with numbers as much as faces. A silver stylus clipped to his inner pocket is the only ornament, save for a pin in the lapel bearing the minimalist logo of the Miss Fortune—a star curling into a spiral, subtle and unassuming… unless you’ve ridden with them.

He walks like a man who expects to be heard, but doesn’t need to raise his voice to get it.

After spending a few too many hours catching up with her sisters and her nieces and nephews, Leilani needed an extra Kaff before a day of engineering. Whilst she wanted to go down to the planet, going guts deep into a fusion reactor was just as good! And if the Captain agreed to her request, she might not even go down, trying to arrange to give her family a tour of the Miss during her day off!

"You think the Captain would consider a change in course if we wrangled to transport the Comet? It should have been the Rays but they've been having a bit of a slump, shame we won't get a chance to see a game," she mused to herself and whoever happened to be in there little galley.

She'd already sent a message to the Governor, in the off chance she could get an audience as the local kid made good. She still couldn't get used to being one of the Sunsiders nobbing with the nobles that lived high above the glooms of the Baffles that protected the Archologies from the massive waves the mostly landless Mora generated during Storm season.

More comfortable was her contact with an old acquaintance in Naval supplies; it might cost her a good bottle of whisky and another late night, but she might be able to score some Naval contracts, or even the Scouts.

Tharrok's Activities, Day 2 (15May1115) Mora/Mora, the Planet that Never Sleeps...
Yesterday was busy, but he had managed, at the end of the day to have an epiphany and have a good sit-down with Captain Rains to discuss the idea. Today, he needed to get a few things accomplished, starting with getting the X-Boat Wave off to his old friend Phelan. But he also needed to check on vendors for his toothbrush and towel idea. In addition, he figured it would be a good time to work the streets, bars, pubs and inns for rumors, contacts and backroom deals. If he got on the trail of anything juicy, he'd just comm LC and let him know he would be staying off-ship and he'd trade his personal liberty time if necessary.

Tharrok is up and dressed in some rather flashy (if he does say so himself) Vargr-style 'threads', just what is needed for a good bar hop. He stops in to speak with Said Ma and picks up some NalcTabs, "I'm gonna be working the bars and pubs for deals and patrons. People get suspicious if alcohol isn't drunk but I need to stay clear-headed. So if I can get a few tabs, I'd much appreciate it."

After picking up some tabs from Ma, he'll hit the galley for some Kaffe and a quick pastry before heading out. While he is eating, he'll let LC know his plans for the day. "I'll prolly be gone most of the day unless I just find a great deal or contacts early on. If I get a lead on anything particularly promising, expect me back first thing in the morning and I'll consider it my Liberty for this Port Call." Tharrok takes another bite and chases it with some steaming hot kaffe. "Also, I'll see about contracting out for the towels and dental kits. If I find the right thing, I'll take care of it and submit the receipt for reimbursement. I'll have my comm on and with me, but it'll be in silent mode, so don't panic if you don't hear back from me right away. I'll get back with you as quickly as possible." Taking the last bite and swallowing the last of his kaffe, he finishes the conversation. "Is there anything I need to be looking out for, either for you, personally, or for the ship... other than what I've discussed, of course?"

If LC doesn't add anything, Tharrok will get moving, first stop, the X-Boat office. After waiting in line for just a minute or two, he gets his text Wave lined out of the IS Form 6, pays the fees, including the extra for the encryption and non-specific destination charges and gets the message sent off (see below if anyone wants to read, but remember, its OOC).

Once Tharrok leaves the X-Boat office, he will turn his attention to beginning his search for a solid, reputable vendor (or vendors) for the towels and tooth care kits. He hopes to have that business wrapped by around midday, when he will begin hitting the bars and pubs. At first, he'll take it easy, mostly watching how the customers and waitstaff move and transact. Tharrok moves easily in and out of the various eateries and establishments, sometimes pausing to eat a small bite, but mostly just sipping various drinks. He does wander through some of the shops, and he considers buying a bespoke suit of the Mood Fabric that seems to be a particular draw. In the end, he decides to get fitted for a decent 'dueling' shirt of the fabric, but not a whole suit. The entire time, Tharrok is drawing on his Streetwise skills to pick out the kinds of people he thinks talking to would best help the ship and crew.

NEW:

Day 3, May 16 1115: After the last of the freight is off-loaded, Tamm and Said Ma exit the ship, pass through the docking ring, through SECURITY and onto a commercial concourse. Mora Prime Station is huge; an orbital port-city of half-a-million sophonts counting inhabitants of every spine and spire and nearby privately held satellite station. Luckily, there are several adjunct offices of the SPACERS' GUILD and it takes only a few minutes (including a short tube-taxi trip) to arrive.

They mix in with a small crowd of other Spacers; some looking for jobs and others just having a beer and shooting-the-breeze. One of the main topics of conversation is the upcoming 'strike'. But the gab centers on how that might impact popular entertainment venues, taverns, hostels and the like. When you ask about 'replenishment', no one seems overly concerned. "That's one thing Starport Authority won't tolerate! Messing with Interstellar Commerce! Not a Thing!" (Your own recent experience at Catuz may lead you to believe differently...)

If you wish to pursue this line of inquiry further, a grizzled old Ship's 1st Officer suggests contacting one of the many Ship Chandleries directly. "Have you already contracted for your replenishment? Talk to who you're contracted with."

Swineguard and Associates, Meeting House LTD LLC, Yousef Ming & Progeny, Plock the Bwap, Stewa Sossabai & Daughters, Ishmashi Cargo and Freight (surface port), Swainson's Trade Collective INC., Greechgragh, Wraghmach & Associates.

A pause, then LC added with quiet sincerity:

..."And don’t ghost us just yet.

Engineering shows "all clear"......for now.

LC’s three commercial actions (tentative):

-Oversee speculative cargo sales (assist or coordinate via Leilani/Kayla/Rin)

Listing on the 'Boards' or doing something else?

-Make mortgage payment at the Regional Bank Annex in Highport.

ooc: Can be done remotely via secure comms. Does not use up an 'action'.

-Assist with jump planning, speculative resale route selection (based on cargo opportunities) and plan from the crew discussed in Jump Space.

Part of the normal Captain's duties and does not take up an "action".

Let me know if anyone needs help coordinating crew actions or wants LC’s support in their task!
Later while everyone is cleaning the ship and conducting post flight operations and maintenance (PFOM) LC seeks out Therrok;
"Tharrok—if you’ve sent your message, good. If not, now’s the time. If Phelan replies before Palique, I want time to weigh what it means."

More to follow later today. P.S. has anyone heard from Don or Mallandyrr lately?

Bronz is pretty smart, and in interacting with the departing passengers gets no 'off' vibes or anything out of the ordinary. The two shopping trip vacationers seem excited to be at Mora and eager to get on with their plans. The scholar-philosopher seems even happier to be home after his academic-study jaunt. "That religion....ugh. Don't get me started! Real happy to be home. Mora may be authoritarian in some regards, but the government isn't entirely crazy!"

The 10 disciples of Ram are all thawed out with no problems; Said Ma is happy with that. The low-berths are all functioning well within spec. These people chant prayers and then head out as if on parade...

Per Tharrok:
OOC:
First, I have no idea what to do with your distant 'contact'. Too far away and too 'in the future' for me to parse at the moment.
-----

The towels/care-kits can be assembled/customized by any number of small firms in this arm of the huge spaceport. Cost would be 10-credits per, with a minimum order of 100. Pretty much the same whichever vendor is selected.
OOC:
Tharrok just cruising the bars looking for deals and patrons isn't particularly productive....without being a bit more specific regarding what he's looking for. His Streetwise Skill helps keep him safe. Going alone isn't particularly a great idea, but..., he manages. One idea follows...
If Tharrok mentions the 'ceremonial wine' from Jokotre, a bartender summons his 'manager' who gives T-Jive the owner's card. The owner being Javron Belli haupt Smythe with residence and office on one of the higher (and more affluent) decks of the high-port. "That wine can be purchased under a tariff/tax waiver for 'religious' reasons" the manager confides. "Then maybe it gets diverted, relabled... Uh, well, not that I'm advocating anything like that; it'd be against the law you know. But if hypothetically someone did that, they'd have a tidy profit for it."

OOC:
Sorry, but I do need some help with this. I figure the MISS FORTUNE is too small and not nearly luxurious enough to transport a big league Grav Disc team, unfortunately. As far as getting a Navy or Scout Service contract, that's possible. Let's work on this a little. Do you have a contact in mind? Do you want to suggest some details or are you leaving his up to me?

NEW Post will be incoming. Basically seeing if the other players find anything out on the brokers listed before acting on anyone in particular. Intent- to see if the other players find out any information on the brokers, instead of just going in blind. In the meantime post will follow on Action to conduct trading with Mora Broker and broker background check.

Question to the GM since you posted that Tamm is taking Said-Ma out to find other cargo, is the 'Tamm and LC Going to see the Union President ...or the Union Shop Steward...' is not in play anymore???
The intent of that post was to trying to get the replenishment conducted without the dockworkers potential strike to muddy the water.
