Origins

How long the ship sat adrift, he could not tell you; only that when the salvage crew came, he was nearly mad from the isolation. The ship that he was on had drifted into the Dark Veil after a blind jump to hyperspace overloaded the engine. His father was the ship’s engineer and was killed by the engine’s discharge. His mother was killed when a support buckled and ran her through when the ship crashed into a larger vessel. As for he himself, he was a child alone that had witnessed the death of his parents while he was helpless to act.

After untold time alone with naught but the corpses of his parents for company, Hawke’s isolation ended when a salvage crew began to cut their way into the small vessel. His mind raced, his parents begging him not to let the strangers take them away. Their words echoed through the halls from dead lips and rang in his head from dead minds. Taking his father’s blaster, he opened fire at the intruders as soon as they entered through the hole that they had made.

Being a child, his every shot missed. The salvagers that boarded the vessel returned fire, but Hawke’s small size worked to his advantage. However, driven by a mad purpose or not, a child is no match for a group of adults, and within half an hour Hawke was subdued.

The salvage crew took both the half-mad child and the ship back to the planet, one for the Ministry of Labor and the other for the Ministry of Technology. The child could be put to work as soon as its half-complete raving was beaten out of it, while the ship contained interesting design and the bodies within it were clad in some sort of armor. There may be some features within the armor that could be incorporated into the armor used by the military.

The Ministry of Labor wasted little time in trying to beat the encroaching madness out of the child, though the true cause of the madness being beaten back was an end to his isolation. His mind began to heal, and as it did he learned where he was. He learned of the history of the planet, of the First Sith.

Almost as soon as his mind was deemed stable enough to be put to work, one of the Eyes of Akrulta was looking through the slave blocks for a new slave to be trained to replace one of the elder janitorial slaves at the Great Cathedral. While traveling through the Kitok Tevolikas Block, the Sith noticed something about the strange alien slave. This slave with a mechanical voice was touched by the Force.

Thus, Hawke was taken to the Akrulta Arcology and placed within a young class. From there, he soared. Tests determined that despite his brush with madness, his mind was sharper than any other in his class. The entire class was told early and repeatedly that only one of them would graduate to become an Eye of Akrulta.

The years passed, classmates died or were expelled, and Hawke continued to learn. Studying the ways of the Sith, engineering, and of the faith of Akrulta. Specializing in engineering as it related to armor and battle, he was taught by his masters the third form of lightsaber combat, Soresu, to take advantage of his mind which never stopped analyzing and calculating. When the battle royal to determine the class graduate came, the class of twenty had been reduced to five: Hawke, Vyrm, Zoma, Fharl, and Yutis.

Vyrm was the greatest threat, undefeated in the sparring arena and strong as a rancor. Zoma, Fharl, and Yutis immediately ganged up on Vyrm, hoping to deal with the greatest threat first. It was a foolish decision, Vyrm’s favored form of combat, Shii-Cho, specialized in fighting multiple opponents. From the back, in his black, custom-made armor, Hawke watched, and waited.

Unlike the rest of his class, he knew that he’d lose in a straight up fight against Vyrm, so he came to the arena the night before and made some preparations. When the last of the three was cut down, Hawke pressed a button. The entire arena floor, except for a small circle where Hawke stood, surged with electricity. Enough voltage to kill a reek surged through Vyrm, dropping him to the floor.

Cutting the flow of electricity, Hawke finally drew his lightsaber and approached the downed and shaking Vyrm. A glance at the hate-filled yellow eyes was all that Hawke needed to see. While he could have killed Vyrm and been done with it, Hawke had a much more delicious idea. With a few sweeps of his lightsaber, Vyrm was no longer a threat. The human specialized exclusively on bladework, and he couldn't use a blade without hands or feet. That was not enough for Hawke. Another slash removed his legs from below the knees; another his arms below the elbows. Still it wasn't enough. So Hawke removed Vyrm's limbs at the hips and shoulders. Next, Hawke took a knife from Zoma's corpse and with an almost droid level of indifference, cut out Vyrm's eyes before shoving them into the human's mouth. Placing his hand over Vyrm's mouth, Hawke massaged his classmate's throat, forcing him to swallow his own eyes whole.

"Enjoy the rest of your short, pointless life," Hawke softly whispered into Vyrm's ear, even as the human screamed in agony and horror. With a smile under his helmet, Hawke stood and walked out of the arena.

The victor, Hawke was brought to the Great Cathedral. In a small sanctum, he pledged his blade, mind, and power to the service of Akrulta. With that oath, his time as an acolyte ended and his time as an Eye of Akrulta began.

Five years after his graduation, the Oracle came forth. The time for the Sith to reveal themselves had come at last. It was time for the disciples of the Deliverer to spread the faith and rule the galaxy.

Obligation

Oath to Vhrall Akrulta
-Unlike a large percentage of the Eyes of Akrulta, Hawke does not believe that the First Sith was a divine being when he led his people to Akrulta. Instead Hawke believes that upon his death Vhrall Akrulta ascended to divinity.

Other Miscellaneous Notes

-Always fiddling or tinkering with some sort of gadget
-One of the Eyes of Akrulta
-Cybernetic respirator gives his voice a mechanical reverb, even on the rare occasions that he is without his mask.
