GP 3rd Anniversary Contest!

Be sure to read and follow the guidelines for our forums.

Dec 6, 2016 2:53 am
To celebrate Gamers' Plane turning 3, I'm giving away some stuff! Among the prizes I'll be giving away:

- 1 Star Wars Armada core kit
- 1 Monte Cook's Numenera: Into the Deep
- 5 Tunnels & Trolls "Grimtina's Guard" Adventure, signed by Ken St. Andre
- 2 bags of 150 dice courtesy of Easy Roller Dice Co.
- 2 sets of beautiful gunmetal dice courtesy of Easy Roller Dice Co.
- 3 15-track BattleBards albums
- $20 voucher to Modiphius Entertainment
- PDFs of Rich Howard's DnD 5e Alchemist Class
- A 5"x7" or 6"x6" privately commissioned fantasy map by Whipstache, aka, Ryan Hennesy
- 2 Call of Cthulhu Keeper Rulebook PDFs from Chaosium Inc

As each winner is chosen, you'll get to pick what prize you want, in order. One prize per person. I can cover shipping within the US, but shipping overseas may need some help to cover.

Gamers' Plane 3 Year Anniversary

Because Gleam is limiting how many people I can give prizes to, I'll do my best to distribute them as best as I can. And because Gleam is limiting how many entries I can make without paying, I implore you to check out all the groups donating prizes. They're doing so because they support RPGs and want to make the RPG world a better place. I asked if they wanted to help, and they graciously agreed. The last you can do is check out their sites, follow them on Twitter, etc.

BattleBards
BattleBards is a great group making fantastic audio, from clips to longer tunes, to help bring your tabletop games to life. Be sure to visit their Twitter and Facebook.

Easy Roller Dice Co
Simply put, Easy Roller Dice Co makes amazing, affordable dice. Their recent gunmetal dice sets are easily my current favorites. Be sure to visit their Twitter and Facebook.

Modiphius Entertainment
Modiphius Entertainment is a maker of great RPG games, including Conan, Achtung! Cthulhu, the now in beta Star Trek Adventures, and more!

Rich Howard
Good friend Rich Howard is just a brilliant man, trying to make his way as an RPG developer. Working on a variety of projects, his recent Alchemist class for DnD 5e would be fun for any player (or a great NPC for any GM)! Go follow him on Twitter, you won't regret it. He's part of a brilliant podcast, the Whelmed Podcast.

Whipstache, aka Ryan Hennesy
Ryan Hennesy is not only a super compassionate person, he's a great designer. Just because he can, he's offering a private commission for a custom fantasy map, based on a rough sketch of yours! Go follow him on Twitter and check out his site.

Congrats on 3 years, GP!

I am not lying, I have hastily given up on other sites- even the one that I once co-moderated to be here. This site is unparalleled in its simplicity and clarity. Most sites you have to either hunt for your game or divine in order to post- not this one.

One thing I must ask, if we have over 400 entries, does that mean we have over 400 playing?

Each person can have up to 10 entries in the contest, so I'd guess about 50 people have done it so far

Yup, 10 if you're a GP member who's posted in the past year (and didn't lie on the answer, which I can check). So between 40 and 80 people, probably leaning to 50-60. For 16 prizes. You have a good chance of winning something.
Dec 8, 2016 8:56 pm
Hey, awesome! I didn't know the site had been around for three years and I'm glad I found it.

Oh I totally blanked on the must post in this thread part :o I should start reading stuff properly instead of skimming over posts in between other stuff.

And thanks again Keleth, for nurturing this growing community. The best place to experience PbP. I don't think I would have started doing PbP without GP. All the other forums I've come over seemed so clunky and uninviting, so it's nice to find a good home here :)

Well, if you signed up through Gleam, you could still win, but I'll be giving away prizes to active GP members first.

Dec 14, 2016 12:16 am
Yeah, happy birthday GP. Really nice site you got here Kel. Keep up the good work.
Dec 14, 2016 1:56 pm
Congratulations on this project turning three! After time on a few other sites for PbP gaming, this is my favorite (and only) place for the format.
Dec 15, 2016 10:59 pm
Love the site! Here's to many more years to come!
Dec 16, 2016 3:48 am
I'm new here, but this site has truly given me my first real chance to roleplay. Living such a hectic life makes scheduling difficult, but I've not had as Mich as I have in the past few weeks. Thank you so much.
Dec 18, 2016 4:05 am
Happy Birthday. 3 years is like 21 in dog years, and that's a long time.
Dec 21, 2016 11:16 am
Happy birthday GP! Thanks for getting me into actually playing D&D after all this time.
Dec 21, 2016 2:26 pm
Happy birthday and yaaaaa free stuff.
Dec 21, 2016 4:02 pm
Oi! Thanks for being so responsive to the needs of the community! I love what GP allows for our campaign.
Dec 27, 2016 3:10 pm
Happy birthday, may the Force be with you....always....
Dec 28, 2016 4:34 pm
With the contest over, I've started reaching out to the winners, in the order they're picked!
Dec 28, 2016 4:45 pm
Congratulations Winners !!!
Dec 28, 2016 5:29 pm
Congratulations to the winners, and thank you to Keleth and all the doners!
Dec 28, 2016 8:07 pm
To be fair, don't get discouraged yet.. I've picked the winners from this thread, but I'll be reaching out to them one by one.
Dec 28, 2016 10:16 pm
If you're having trouble finding a way to tell me about all of the things I won you can just give it to me straight. I can handle it. :-)
Dec 29, 2016 4:36 pm
Super sad I missed this. I have my game forums up on my phone but never check the cover page. I guess I need to start doing that.
Regardless, I really love this site. It makes DMing a little easier for me. You get time to prepare and double check lore of your world or past events before posting.

Not yet! So far, 2 prizes have been claimed. Plus, we got two more prizes thanks to Choasium coming in at the last minute!
Dec 30, 2016 8:13 pm
I mean has everyone who won been reached out to?
Dec 30, 2016 8:31 pm
darthoingoboingo says:

Nope, only 3. Each person is getting to choose their rewards in order of selection. Once we get out of the holiday season (Jan 2nd), I'll be giving people 3 days to claim their prize, then move on to the next.
Jan 3, 2017 12:14 am
How many winners were there? Do you know when we can safely assume you have reached out to all of them?
Jan 3, 2017 2:01 am
I'll send a message when everyone's responded. We have 16 prizes still remaining!
Jan 3, 2017 2:55 am
Wow! What great support from the greater community!

darthoingoboingo says:

Luckily yes. He tried reaching me via e-mail first, but I never received that particular e-mail (had my inbox have some rare farts like this in the past, it does not happens often, but it does happen, which is annoying...), so he contacted me via PM here instead.

I just got my email yesterday. I am feeling the love and sending it right back. You guys are awesome! Thanks again Keleth!
Jan 3, 2017 10:13 pm
Thanks for everything Keleth! I got my email and sent it back already.
Jan 6, 2017 2:47 pm
Fingers crossed anyway! Congrats to everyone that won and thanks for the chance
Jan 12, 2017 11:59 pm
Guys and gals, please be sure to check your emails and PMs! I've reached out to a few people who haven't gotten back to me, forcing me to move further down the list, which means if you do respond later, you may not get the prize you want if there are any left at all! At least one person who responded to this thread recently is among those!

Did you get mine?

Yup. I have down the details for everyone who's responded to at least my first contact attempt. There are people I've reached out to who haven't responded (now up to 2), and if they don't respond soon, I'll have to move on :(
Jan 14, 2017 3:47 am
Can we volunteer to "sacrifice for the good of the community" and take the arduous burden and responsibility of their prizes in their stead? xD

Yes, me neither. Feel free to burden me with any number of additional prizes! :-D
Jan 24, 2017 4:29 am
I guess you can go back to the top for another round?
Jan 24, 2017 5:36 am
you got my address, right?
Jan 24, 2017 5:43 am
Yup. The only people I'm not confirmed for are people I've reached out to multiple times by email and PM.
Jan 24, 2017 5:59 am
are you going to let us know when you mail our swag? tracking numbers and such?
Jan 24, 2017 1:09 pm
Yup, sorry, been a bit lazy the last two weeks on shipping. I'm going to be taking some pictures of the swag on Wednesday, and prep shipping. Shipping out 12 boxes when you have no boxes is actually much harder than I expected... I don't have any boxes the right size, it's a lot of stuff to make sure I don't send the wrong person the wrong stuff, etc.
Jan 24, 2017 6:31 pm
I wouldn't give anything to be a philanthropist.
Feb 4, 2017 4:48 pm
After an unfortunately long time, all the physical prizes, except the Tunnels and Trolls books, are shipped. Everyone in the US should get them in the next few days/week, and my one international winner, I'm not sure, depends how fast it'll pass customs. There are still a handful of prizes, and people aren't responding. I'm gonna try to reach out to a few more e potential winners, and I'd no one takes, first come first served (non winners only, no doubling prizes if you've already won).
Feb 4, 2017 5:37 pm
Not trying to rush you at all, but if it was just PDF should I have received it? Just want to make sure I didn't miss it. Maybe I need to check my spam or something.

All pdfs should have been sent out. If you didn't get it, please email me and I'll see what happened.
Feb 7, 2017 2:29 pm
As people receive physical prizes, if you don't mind, take pictures and share them! If you prefer not to, no worries, I respect your privacy. I'm know Easy Roller Dice Co would love to see you with your winnings!
Feb 14, 2017 1:58 pm
No one seems to be responding to the last prize, so here's what we'll do. Anyone who was eligible for the original contest can respond to this thread with a desire for the prize, and I'll pick a winner out of you guys. You have two days! The last prize:

- PDF of the Call of Cthulhu Keeper Rulebook from Chaosium
Feb 14, 2017 1:58 pm
I will take it!
Feb 14, 2017 4:37 pm
eh, I'll throw my hat in
Feb 14, 2017 4:41 pm
Pick me! Pick me! ;)
Feb 14, 2017 4:41 pm
Ummm, yes please! That would rock!
Feb 14, 2017 9:05 pm
Damn, the one thing I don't need! Good luck guys, count me out Keleth!`

OH mememememememem!
Feb 15, 2017 1:43 am
Forget those other people. Give it to me!!
Feb 16, 2017 12:57 am
I wouldn't turn it down!
Feb 16, 2017 1:41 am
Also, for those people who won prizes and got them, please do tell us! Pictures if you don't mind! Show off your goodies!
Feb 16, 2017 2:03 am
I won a prize -- but the thing I'm going to use it on hasn't released yet! I promise a picture as soon as it does!

Reminds me, I received my gunmetal dice last week. They're neat. Except that the 16 on the d20 is a bit misprinted, but nothing too disastrous. Once you've spotted the 18, it becomes obvious that this number is supposed to be a 16... Also, those things are heavy! I was expecting heavy dice, but man...
