Getting to know each other

Hey everyone,

I thought I'd post a bit about myself and invite you to do the same. I am a Math and Computer Science teacher from Vancouver, Canada with a passion for playing games of all kinds. I started played RPGs in high school back in the lat 1980s and then stopped playing when I went to university.

I got back into RPing when 5th Edition came out in 2014, and I've been DMing for 2 groups in person ever since then. I have stepped down as DM at my tables for awhile, partially due to busy life things but also because I want to play for a change, as well as give others a chance to DM. However, I love DMing so much that I need an outlet, so here I am!

I'm Jabes, 42 years old, from Manila, Philippines (GMT+8). Besides the time zone difference I also keep odd work hours as I am a chef running my own cake business. We like making geeky cakes. Here's a D&D-themed one, and here's another.

And then there's this bad boy!

I was introduced to D&D almost 30 years ago (AD&D back then) and to this day I still play with the same group of guys, my best friends. We played 3.5E when that came out and spent 10 years on a campaign, skipped 4E, and started a 5E campaign as soon as it came out. I've been on GP since early 2015. It's been fun trying out new game systems and character concepts I would never have gotten off the ground in my IRL games.

Whenever I play I try to do something new. Sometimes that means something a little unconventional, but other times that just means something I myself have never tried before.

I am a senior at my HS (EST) and I was first introduced to DnD I believe last September or around then. Ever since then I have been hooked on it and I have started building my own world for it.

Ths game has made me want to go into the games industry as a writer, though I also have an interest in computer science an graphic design(even though I am very bad at graphic design).

Starting playing DnD for about 6 or 8 months ago. Got stuck being the DM since I suggested playing it. I use Gamers Plane to get my characters out as well as idea for my IRL players

Thanks for those of you who have uploaded your characters. I think it is worthwhile for each of you as a group of players to openly discuss your characters so that you don't end up covering the same niches and you see if any roles are unfilled. Although 5e is pretty good to run with any group of characters, it might be useful and fun to coordinate. I'll make a post for you to discuss your characters as a group.

Let's have characters completed by Monday, January 9th and then start the game on that day. Completed means completed, so make sure you have selected all of your spells, class options, and starting equipment. Also, remember to tell me about what kind of magic item you want as per the Character Creation Guidelines.
