I tug on my wide brimmed hat and adjust the workaday linen scarf that acts as thin, precious protection against the punishing desert sun. Glancing up at my colleague, Dr. Adofo, I note his wearied, unsure steps - the Board of Governors really must start insisting on more field training as a required part of Society members' study, I think to myself.
Sighing, I quicken my pace to catch up with Adofo, as he looks about to misstep and fall, I extend a hand to grasp his arm, steadying him.
"You all right there? We gotta get you out here in the sands and sun with me more often - toughen you up!" At this last teasing phrase, I give him a big wink and playfully punch him in the shoulder with my free hand.
"So, Why's the Society having us truck all the way out here anyways? Didn't they already send a team to research this temple sometime last year?"
