Ok, I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing. Tried reading the SRD but was having some trouble parsing the information there.

Strange: I have "Allow adding rolls to posts" checked but it wasn't giving me any input boxes. Stat rolls in the next post.

That's fine, we'll walk through it together. As for a starting array, not a bad one. When you think about assigning them to the different stat blocks, think about what kind of future you want to try for your person.

Your stats have modifiers, depending on their value. You'll add those mods to checks for that stat.

Every career has three components: Qualification, Survival, and Advancement.

The qualification target is what you have to roll to be able to enter that job. Typically, you only need to roll that once per career.
The Survival target changes depending on which specialty you take in that career. That target is what you need to roll each "Term" you spend in that job to see if you continue to have that job.
The Advancement target changes depending on which specialty you take in that career. That target is what you need to roll each "Term" you spend in that job to see if you advance up the ranks (which leads to more benefits at the end and more skills and such.

In addition, you have the choice in Term 1 of attending either a Military Academy (Entry: Army END 8+, Marines END 9+, Navy INT 9+) or a University (EDU 7+). These afford you several benefits in terms of skills and bonuses to entering a career.

Each "Term" accounts for 4 years of training/life experience/whatever. You gain skills, have events or mishaps, and earn chances at starting gear/cash for each term you serve.
