Back again, I see. Good, this one's kind of important.
See, back in the early days, there were so few novas that pretty much everyone knew what their deal was. Then the Commander showed up, a lot more novas followed after, and we had a lot more that we had to keep track of. Like with pretty much everything apparently, we borrowed the terminology from astronomy, because we really have to keep the star theming going for some reason.
The basic form of the classification system isn't anything special, just keeps track of general power levels(O, B, A, F, G, K, and M, along with a number 0-9). We've got people all over the spectrum, though as far as we know the only recorded O-class was the Commander himself.
The cooler one, and the system we usually pair with the rankings, groups them by a category their powers fit into, since knowing how much power they have isn't really that useful if we have no idea what kind of power it is. I'll explain more about those later on.
