As we all know, combat can be the one part of a PbP game that can really slow things down. I came across an interesting product on RPG Now called Solo Heroes that simplifies combat for encounters designed for a party but being played by a single PC. It had me thinking, that maybe something like this could be adapted to PbP to keep the relative challenge of an encounter but speeding up the time it would take. Essentially hit points are condensed to hit dice so less total hits are needed to take a monster out.

I may try it for the next combat in my D&D 5e game and see how it works out.

Thoughts?

Heh, so I was actually planning on starting a thread next week (you'll notice I've been trying to put up a discussion topic every 7-10 days for the last... 12 days or so) on the topic of streamlining combat for PbP. Actually, that would make a really good guide for the Guides forum.
