Music for Games

I know it's not for everyone, but I personally love including music in games. How about you?

• GP has its own Music Library, to which you can add.

• @Kalajel's Resources and Free Games lists Playlists for RPGs

• @Phil_Ozzy_Fer posted about Dungeon Synth last month.

• One "problem" I used to have was finding the perfect music but it's too short for the scene. Or I only like a portion of it, and the rest is garbage. That was until I discovered YouTube On Repeat. You can create an infinite loop of your selected YouTube video - or just the portion you want, by using the Start and End sliders! You're welcome.

I would love to start incorporating music or audio into my posts but can you embed them or just have to include a link to the audio source? Honestly I haven't looked at the GP library so not sure how it even works.

I love music and ambience in my RL games, really sets the tone. I use Battlebards, mostly.

I usually shy away from anything that requires registration, but have heard lots of good things about Battlebards. Maybe I'll finally sign up. :-)

I've heard good things about both battlebards and Sirenscapes. both are used in podcasts that I listen too. Since I don't have a RL group and I don't think it would be cool to post their music here I haven't really investigated it that much.

I just came across this. H.P. Lovecraft/Cthulhu inspired music
(spotify playlist). And then I discovered that there's a whole genre out there of music inspired by the Cthulhu mythos! Good stuff!

You should look up Adrian Von Ziegler. He's a fantastic composer and has alot of his stuff on his youtube channel.

Midnight Syndicate is awesome. I use it in my (IRL) World of Darkness games, kicking the playlist over to that periodically. Players get all creeped out because MS does that and they know I triggered it for a reason.

NIce share, i think ntw design company use 2 have a section be4 with like free 2 use songs. I did include the page, but its not there anymore it was litterly on the bottom menu, if anyone can find it let me know, now ive just been using youtube. Or you can type in on google 'no royalty creative common music' that worx 2. Here, this is a free music archive ( but it gets pretty boring since there arent any like fresh songs

Yeah, your first link seems to sell bags and suitcases now. You can remove it. Your second link seems to have some interesting songs which could be used in games.

I went back and listened to this again and man, does it set an atmosphere!

I loved the music to that game.

I think a game can not be played without any background music. Music plays a vital role in order to make the game playable.
It is only the important aspect of the game.

Still so, so good!

Currently, I am absolutely loving the Darkest Dungeon OST! So damn good! I think I included a track or two in my original post, but here are a couple of links to the whole thing.

Summonning Is a nice listen for med-fans, game, especially if playing some LotR RPG. Only if you're okay about a black metal band singing about Mordor and orcs and shit...
