All,

I have a One Ring campaign ongoing and we've suffered a bit of attrition over the past few months for various reasons. We're in a pause as the summer winds up and my kids get back into school (and the puppy gets older and whatnot) -- but will look to pick things up again in September or early October.

I've love to have another 1-2 people join in. If you're unfamiliar with the rule-system, there's an online character generator which can help you make a valid character and the rule-system is generally pretty straightforward (rolls are a d12 + some number of d6). I have been playing this and Adventure in Middle Earth (basically the D&D5E conversion of One Ring) and find that the combat mechanics and narrative play of One Ring captures Middle Earth exceedingly well. It's a rich system that has been fun to learn and play.

We currently sit at a couple Men (one from Laketown, another from Beorn's enclave) and a Hobbit and would welcome additional members to our Fellowship seeking to rescue a hapless Hobbit from the pot of some Misty Mountain goblins...

I have a player who enjoyed MERP back in the day who might be interested. I'll give him a nudge.

I think I'd be open to trying it out. I recall applying to one game but found the ruleset daunting as it's totally new to me, but if you're happy with a complete noob, I'll join you.

I have the Adventurers book, by the way! Just found it collecting virtual dust in my harddrive.

Character generation can be a bit of a drag without any source material -- the online tool makes it a bit easier to do it right. I'll make some room in the game and we can work on onboarding you over the next little bit so that when we get rolling again, we can do so with ease.

The game is here.

EDIT: Good news about the adventurer's book. That's all you need as a reference. If it helps, I'm still learning how to GM the system, so having a complete newbie involved doesn't stress me out at all. I think out of the ~4 of us remaining the the game only one has extensive/any experience with it.

Great. I rolled up a character with the generator last night but need to get into the material to do the finishing touches.

I'd be interested but I'm not familiar with the system, though I used to like playing MERP back in the day.

How can I find the character generation tool? I take it that it's set in the 3rd age?

Thanks knifesedgegames! That's the right link. I can even provide access to the library we're using if you'd like to put your character in there.

nsanderson: it is third age, about five years after the Battle of Five Armies. So, relative peace has descended upon Middle Earth, but the forces of the Enemy are nonetheless still stirring.

Yes please. I've made a start on a Wood elf minstrel of sorts with a preference for swords.

I'd like to join in if there's a spare space? Knifesedge has sent me a PDF of the adventure book.

Have rolled up a Mirkwood elf warden via the online tool. Do I need to do anything else or just create a bit of a back story?

So a slight change, Dagathalion, though competent with bow and sword, is somewhat of a scholarly minstrel.

Apply to the game http://gamersplane.com/games/237/ so I can drag you in and we can work through the mechanics on the game forum with the other players.

Thank you for asking!

We're at about six players right now -- so I'm feeling full up. If we get some attrition, I'll make sure to note it here!
