Here's a spot to ask and discuss stuff out-of-character (OOC).

Hey emsquared, just wanted to pop in so you didn't think I'd signed up and abandoned you already :). I'm gonna try to get a character sheet up soon, it has just taken me a long time to decide what I wanted to play :D
Oct 9, 2017 3:15 pm
Now I'm interested if someone could teach me a few thing about post formatting and roll macros.
Oct 9, 2017 7:02 pm
Not a problem acox, I've had IRL stuff pop up that has prevented me from keeping things moving as much as I would like. But I have messages from everyone indicating they're working on it.
jkl is just a superstar and was ready to go :)
jkl, I will post a primer on what I've come to know as pretty standard formatting here on GP, later tonight. As for the roll macros, feel free to play around with it in this thread. I will also include a blurb on that along with the post-formatting.

I ported this Play-by-Post Basics thread pretty much wholesale from my other game... hopefully covers the basics of in-character post formatting, and a little bit about dice rolls, let me know if you have any questions!

Hey everybody, if you go to the root game-forum page, there should be a link in the lower-left hand corner of the page that says "Subscribe to Forum". Clicking that link will enable you to receive emails when someone posts to the game threads. Please subscribe to the forum.
I would like to see draft PCs from the remaining players (acox, dandyman, zoomisland) before the beginning of next week, por favor.

Couple of (hopefully) quick questions. I'm still a little hazy on the assumed tech level of the Je'daii Order and their neighbors. From what I've read they haven't invented lightsabers or hyperdrives yet, but besides that we can assume the usual levels of Star War stuff (droids, blasters, repulsorlifts)? On that note, is the Je'daii Order as averse to blasters as their later incarnation?
I'm working on an idea of a character who has/uses a blaster rifle and I'm wondering if that would at all make sense for a Je'daii padawan.

Oct 17, 2017 2:10 am
Yea, no Lightsabers, no hyperdrive, but they have still colonized every planet in their solar system, including a far-orbit space station, "cloud cities" on gas giants, and terraforming inner-orbit harsh environment planets, and they have also sent out "sleeper ships" (nascent intergalactic colonization). So yea all the Star warsy tech is there, and while certain things may not be "supposed" to exist (like certain gear/vehicles built by certain future-intergalactic-corporations and species and things), it's not worth our time to pick and choose and say "Well, Sorosuub doesn't exist yet, so this item/ship/droid isn't around yet.", we'll just "reskin" it if it comes up for something.
So yes basically assume that everything except lightsabers are on the table, and instead of lightsabers there are "Force-imbued Blades", which will use the Lightsaber skill, and will be statted/modded/implemented mechanically similarly to Lightsabers (though not as much base Pierce/Breach).
I would say the Je'daii are not as "anti-blaster" as the Jedi. Indeed it seemed pretty common for Je'daii Rangers to carry and use blasters based on the novel I've read set in this Era. Most Force Users do not become Je'daii. Most go on to fill regular societal roles - but with Force Powers - this includes soldiers, law enforcement, bounty hunters, etc. So plenty of room in the fiction for a blaster focused PC.

So far, we have a Cerean Artisan, an Ithorian Sage, and a Zabrak Pathfinder. Would Tech vs Nature be a thing? Are all our PCs dudes? What animal companions are we bound to meet? How would the Masters train us? I can't wait to see how Ruhr will mentor us.
Looking forward to see how Rossa will turn up.
BTW, I believe Depra ran a bit over budget on creds. What was written has 5290, including the unspent 850.

I wouldn't say that "Tech v. Nature" is slated to be a dominant campaign theme. But the planet, Tython, can be expected to be its own sort of "character" in the plot.
It does appear as though everyone is self-identifying as male so far.
Tython is a very diverse planet, in a very diverse solar system, but some of the most common creatures are:
acid spiders
blood spites
flame tygah
guids
hook hawks
horranths
kapir
manka cats
pendle
rumbats
saarls
shire
silik lizards
spinner birds
terenta
Tython raptor
wingmaws
uxibeasts
Not sure what you're asking RE: "How would the Masters train us?"
As Journeyers, you guys don't have a dedicated Mentor anymore. You can have the mechanical benefit of having a Mentor, as you're gonna be around Rangers and Masters constantly, but Ruhr was never your Mentor before this even. He's a Temple Master, and so probably had no single Padawan (instead he had 100s of Younglings and Padawans under his care). Also, you're starting at Vur Tepe (decided to cut out the "first leg" of your Journey to more expeditiously get to a place thick with plot points).
And it looks like Rossa is a Trandoshan Warrior.
Once I get thru PC reviews I'll put up the first IC thread! Shooting for "by Friday night at the latest", for reviews.
Thanks for baring with me all, excited to get this going.

It's a Windows program that lets you build and manage a character. It includes references to just about everything, in that if you pull up a talent or force power it will say something like "See Force and Destiny, page XYZ". Honestly, it's probably easier to have done it by hand but I wanted to see how it works.

Hey all, I've PMed everyone with any XP questions, revisions, etc., please be sure to update your Gamers Plane character sheet once you've finalized your build. Include your Talents and Force Powers (and upgrades) in the Talents section, por favor.
Mostly done with the cred audit too, planning on finalizing/posting the first IC story post probably Friday (cuz my IRL table meets thursdays).
Any last minute questions?

Re: Are we making Morality public knowledge? I think that the beginning Morality is kinda known OOC since Faustian and I took the 2500 creds, and Zoom and acox took the 10 XP. You can extrapolate that everyone is at 50 since nobody took the +/-21 options. If you meant moral strengths/weaknesses, then I guess no.
Re: OggDude's SW Character Generator and GM Tools. It's free to use and download, and some form of it updates by automatically. You could muck up the item part because you could mistake the Add and Purchase buttons as the other. (Depra looks good now.)
Now, some questions.
Do you have a static copy of our sheets?
Lastly, Encumbrance. Yay or nay?
PS. Hooray for (maybe) starting at the Forge!

Sorry guys, have had some homeowner/plumbing drama this weekend that has dominated my time and stress levels...
As for public Morality: many Force Users can sense whether another user is "out of balance", so it's not something to be super concerned about. But if you want to keep it private that is fine with me.
Yes, you should calc/track your Encumbrance plz. It's not something that changes very rapidly in PBP so it shouldn't be too troublesome.

Then we'll dive in!

Alright gents, we'll get going here, but I just wanted to have a little primer for the game.
Two main things:
1. I've been told before that I run a sandbox style game. I don't think that's particularly accurate, but that's what I've been told by past players (who quit because they didn't like it). I would agree with that assessment, on the basis that I do not often come out and say, via NPCs or OOC exposition: "You need to go do this." So I wanted to give you a heads up regarding that. My game will require you to make story-guiding decisions. And this works best when you embrace that. I'm not gonna say "There's no wrong decision." cuz IC actions will have IC consequences. But I want the story to go where you guys want it to go, so I need you to show me where you want it to go with your IC choices.
2. While I am the GM, I need you guys to help me inject Star Wars-y goodness into the game. The nature of PBP is such that there is a much more limited - less fluid - exchange of information about any given thing going on, right? This is especially true for "setting the scene" type information exchange. So part of what I ask that you guys do with every post is to a.) bring the Star Wars, but also b.) I want you to embrace a certain amount of creative license. When I post something and you're left reading it and thinking "Uhhh, but what about X, and Y? Is there anything like that?", I don't want you to stop the game and ask me, I'd rather you put on your GM hat and inject reasonable levels of worldbuilding with your post.
For example, say I've described a scene in a tap-kaf bar, and I didn't say there was a closet over there, but you'd like there to be a closet, cuz you could go in there and put on your disguise. Well, if it makes sense that there's a closet there given what else you know, just narrate into existence that there is a closet there. Or if it's a scene on the street, and didn't say there was a bantha down the street, but you'd like there to be cuz you want to use it to cause a distraction. Well, if it makes sense given what else you know about the scene I've set, just tell us all that there's a bantha down the street.
Does that make sense?
Obviously I don't want you abusing this control, I don't want you to use it to create unreasonable advantages for yourself, or to change a scenes tone or the narrative direction in a big way. If you want to do some worldbuilding, but you think you may be assuming too much creative license? Then ask. Ask a leading question; hey, uh, is there any closets around? or, is there any domestic creatures around by chance? I'll either say, Yes, or make a "luck roll" (or say No :P), but the point is; my ability to communicate everything that's going on is greatly reduced due to the nature of PBP. So use your posts to bring the Star Wars universe to life AND to make things interesting and dramatic.
Cool?
That's all I got.
The intro IC post is just to set the scene a bit, I'll bring us up to something to bite into fairly rapidly here.
Remember: Be bold! Bring the Star Wars! Use your creative license to make things interesting!

I just have one question about how light side points might come into play here. If we feel that we might be stepping on toes, could we spend a light side point to just keep the flow going?
Oct 24, 2017 2:36 pm
Just that light side points can be used as a bit of luck or deus ex machina normally, so to emsquared's point about just rolling with it instead of slowing down a PBP game I was wondering if we could spend a light side point as part of a post if we felt we might be taking too many liberties (like spotting a bantha on the streets of Coruscant).

Yes, faust, you can. But the "power" of your artistic authority mentioned above is a much lesser power than that of your normal option and ability to spend a Destiny Point to create a narrative circumstance. You can always spend Destiny to make something happen, but that is a much more significant level of control, so if you're gonna do that - make it good. Not just to add a closet to a room ;)

Question: Were we taken at a young age to be trained or did we have to seek out the Je'daii?
Nov 10, 2017 4:00 pm
You're never "taken", but if you were born to Je'daii (on Tython), yes you would start young. If you were born off-Tython, on any one of the other Settled Worlds, the Je'daii would make an attempt to convince your parents to have you trained, but ultimately it's up to your parents while you're a child. And opinions of the Je'daii have not been very high for the past hundred years or two.

Awesome. That fact makes it more fun.
Just got through the posts, boning up on the rules and classes now. Should have a character for you late tonight or early tomorrow.

Sorry for the question salvo and my lack of grasp at the moment.
So they would cost the same as a lightsaber and not be available at starting?

Actually Force-imbued blades (which is to say, primarily, the crystals) are probably in the neighborhood of 10x more rare and therefore 10x more expensive than in the base game. Which is to say, you will never buy one :)
You are starting at a Je'daii Temple called "the Forge", which as a Journeyer, you know many choose to forge their Force-imbued blade when they are on this leg of their Journey.

Can you guys poke around the "GM Resource Forum" and let me know what you can/can't see?
I'm expecting that you can read the Thread titles, but hopefully not any of the content...
Thank you!

I wouldn't ask you to scan them, as I don't know how FFG feels about that (I imagine it's not great), but just a basic text summary would be helpful? Primarily the options for Advantage/Trimph/Threat/Despair expenditures on the crafting check even, as I'm doing some custom statting of Force-imbued blades themselves.
Though typing something like that out is probably even more of a time burden to ask... sorry, but I appreciate whatever you feel comfortable with.

What about crystals
Kyber crystal, the mystical gemstones that are used to create a lightsaber blade, cannot be made. Instead, they must be sought out, usually though journeys of self-discovery to remote locations. In the era of the Republic, Padawans traveled to Ilum and other sacred sites to acquire their kyber crystals. Now, there are no clear paths to finding a lightsaber crystal, and aspirants must rely upon the Force to guide them to what they need.
For game purposes, this means that these crafting rules only provide a lightsaber hilt, which is incapable of producing a blade without a crystal. The lightsabers profiles provided here for the weapons assume that it is installed with an unmodified Ilum crystal (see page 197 of the Force and Destiny Core Rulebook); if no crystal installed, use the Hilt profile instead. Once the hilt is crafted and a kyber crystal acquired, the intended wielder of the lightsaber must become personally attuned to the crystal and install it. For more on acquiring and installing lightsaber crystals, see page 195 of the Force and Destiny Core Rulebook.

The rules in this section provide GMs and players with options for crafting their own lightsaber hilts. They offer Artisans and other skilled in technical arts a greater chance to shine, and for players to craft a wide variety of lightsabers. Players wishing to do so should consult with the GM, and then the two should collaborate while going through the steps listed below to create the device. As with all such matters, anything that the player wants to craft is subject to the Gm's approval. Note also that the following rules represent a more expansive and flexible approach to constructing lightsaber hilts than those included in the Force and Destiny Game Master's Kit, but they are not intended to replace them. Instead, players are encouraged to use whichever rules best fit into their styles of play and campaign plans.
Crafting follows three steps. Step 1: Select Template in which the PC chooses what kind of lightsaber hilt to make. Step 2: Acquire Materials in which the PC acquires the supplies to build it, and Step 3: Construction, in which the PC actually assembles the hilt. See the Lightsaber Hilts sidebar, on page 177 of the Force and Destiny Core Rulebook, for more on hilts and their role in the effectiveness of a lightsaber.
Step 1: Select Template
When a character sets about creating a lightsaber hilt, the player first chooses a template from Table 3-10: Lightsaber Templates (see page 85). The template dictates the cost and rarity of materials for the chosen hilt (Material Price/Rarity), the challenge of building it (Check), an estimate of construction duration (Time), and possible results should the character succeed on the check (Hilt Style Examples).
Each template encompasses a number of different lightsaber hilts that accomplish their template’s function in very different ways. For instance, the defensive lightsaber template might represent a lightsaber with a hilt spike to seize enemy weapons, or one designed to let the user parry more swiftly. A template describe what a given lightsaber does, but not necessarily how it accomplishes it or what embellishments it might possess; those are the mark of the crafter. Thus, players and GMs should feel free to be creative in coming up with their own unique types of weapons that a given template represents. Inspired GMs are encouraged to create their own unique templates -- all a template needs is a Name, Material Price/Rarity, Check, Time, and profiles for the result which GMs can provide to their players as they see fit.
Step 1: Select Template takes as much or little time as the character spends planning before launching into hands-on work. After selecting a template, a character moves on to Step 2: Acquire Materials
Step 2: Acquire Materials
To attempt to build a lightsaber hilt based on the chosen template, the PC must acquire appropriate materials for that template. The cost and rarity of these materials are listed under Material Price/Rarity, on Table 3-10: Lightsaber Templates. For mechanical purposes, materials count as a single item with the listed cost and rarity. As always, at the GM’s discretion, certain supplies might not always be available for the listed price at any given market (see page 157 of the Force and Destiny Core Rulebook).
Because Material Price/Rarity for a template is defined only in terms of cost in credits and abstracted rarity, the particular nature of the materials that a character uses can vary wildly and depend on the specifics of the item the character is crafting. At the GM’s discretion, PCs can acquire some or all of the materials for a template via means other than paying for them (such as salvaging them, stealing them, or being gifted with them).

[ +- ] p.85
Step 2: Acquire Materials requires as much time as it takes for the PC to physically obtain the materials. This could be as short as a trip to a scrapyard or market, or as long as an epic quest to find a rare ore or crystal, depending on the situation. After successfully acquiring materials, a character moves on to Step 3: Construction
Step 3: Construction
After acquiring the materials to make the item, the character must make the associated check listed under ‘Check’ on Table 3-10 Lightsaber Templates to actually construct the lightsaber hilt. If the character succeeds, the device is fully functional and has the profile listed. If the character fails on the check, the hilt that comes out of the attempt is unusable and the materials are lost. See Table 3-11: Lightsaber Template Profiles, on page 86 for the characteristics of sample results for each template.
Table 3-12: Spending (ADVANTAGE), (TRIUMPH), (THREAT), and (DESPAIR) on Lightsaber Hilt Crafting includes suggestions on how to integrate other results into successful lightsaber hilt construction. First, crafters can use (advantage) and (triumph) results to make improvements to the item. Then, the GM can spend (threat) and (despair) to add flaws. Unless a limit is specified, an option from these tables may be selected any number of times, and it’s effects stack.
The amount of time Step 3: Construction takes is determined by the estimate of working hours listed under ‘Time’ on Table 3-10: Lightsaber Templates. Every (SUCCESS) the character scores on the check beyond the first reduces this time by 2 hours (to a minimum of 1 hour). Other factors can also affect the time required, at the GM’s discretion.

Building training emitters
Before they were entrusted with full lightsabers, jedi aspirants were given training sabers powered with training emitters instead of kyber crystals (see page 200 of Force and Destiny Core Rulebook). Substantially easier to acquire the parts for and build, crafting a training emitter requires only common electronic parts worth 50 credits (rarity 0) and an Average Mechanics check.

Reforging a hilt
In the days of the Jedi, the lightsaber was not merely a tool, but an extension of its builder. Though the true power of the lightsaber resides in the kyber crystal at its heart Jedi would choose materials that symbolized their commitment to the ways of the Force to build the hilt, Even today, Force sensitives who strive to build lighstsaber hilts are likely to go through long, involved process before settling on a final design, and night make updates to the weapon to reflect changes in themselves.
Because of this sentimental connection to the materials that many Force-sensitives feel. it is rare for a Force sensitive to voluntarily cast aside a lightsaber hilt. Rather than discarding the old materials in favor of new ones, a character who needs an updated lightsaber may choose to reforge the old hilt. A character may also reforge a hilt that has been destroyed, using the shards to create a new one. An old hilt might even be used to create a different type of lightsaber, if the character’s fighting style changes over time to incorporate new armaments.
During Step 2: Acquire Materials, a character may reforge an existing lightsaber hilt rather than acquiring entirely new materials. If the character does so, reduce the Material Price for the template, indicated in Table 3-10: Lightsaber Templates by half of the existing item's Price (to a minimum of 50%) and reduce its rarity by 1. This process consumes the existing hilt entirely.
At the GM’s discretion, the crafter may spend (TRIUMPH) to transfer one of the positive results of the crafter’s choice from Table 3-12: Spending (ADVANTAGE), (TRIUMPH), (THREAT), and (DESPAIR) on Lightsaber Hilt Crafting (see page 87) from the old hilt to the new one, provided that the trait can logically be carried over to the new item. In the same manner, the GM may spend (DESPAIR) to transfer one of the negative results from Table 3-12: Spending (ADVANTAGE), (TRIUMPH), (THREAT), and (DESPAIR) on Lightsaber Hilt Crafting from the old hilt to the new one.

Hey all, wanted to give you a heads up, I am having my wisdom teeth out tomorrow morning, and I don't know how/if it will impact my posting. But if I go dark for a day or two, it's probably because I'm too busy trying to eat a hamburger through a straw or something.
;)

Good luck! Enjoy the anesthetic. Have someone responsible with you to document it and stuff.
Also, if you are craving for something, oogle if there is a soup, stew, or sap rendition of it.

Just as a heads up, I don't know how many of you are based in the states but it's Thanksgiving weekend! So I won't be able to read/post as much til probably about Monday. Hopefully we don't get in a bar fight/shootout before then (fingers crossed).

I hope we do, or Tov hopes we do, secretly at least. It would be an interesting cliff hanger for the weekend.

I just wanted to clarify the OOC bit. Does that mean that sticking between 30 to 70 Morality gives 2 additional dark pips to every Force roll or was that directed towards me?

Hey all! So some bad news, I messaged FaustianFlakes a day or two ago, as we hadn't heard from him in a while, and he said he has to bow out. I've already contacted Silim (the next on the waiting list) to replace him, but haven't heard back yet, so for now we're down to 3. If I don't hear from Silim soon, I'll be contacting a person who's new to the forums but expressed interest in FFGs Star Wars. Fausts PC is still there ingame, but is gonna be in zombie mode until I phase him out. You guys can tell him to do something, but he won't act on his own.

Alright, so apparently Gamersplane doesn't feel like sending you an email for a new PM is a good idea. I only noticed you were looking for a new player through your post in the Tavern thread. I'm definitely interested in playing! I'll roll up a character, but I have two different ideas, so I gotta ask two questions:
1. Echani haven't been 'created' yet by genetic engineering, right?
2. Are there Wookiees on Tython or the other planets in the system?

Technically, under Legends "canon" there are only a dozen or so species (see the "History" section of that link) on Tython/in the Tython system (Wookies are one of them) - all brought by the Tho Yor. That said, I'm more interested in letting people play characters that interest them, than adhering to Legends. But THAT said, what is an Echani? :P
I don't have the sourcebook for them, nor are they listed in any community resource I have (though I haven't updated those resources in months and months). You can play whatever Species you would like as long as it's from a published sourcebook, though we'll have to change/gloss over/ignore their official background if it they "shouldn't" exist in 25,000 BBY.
As I don't have any resource for reference, if you decide to play an Echani, could you just PM me their vitals?
Also, please do poke around on the forum to check out the IC and OOC resources, and to get up to speed on the IC story thus far.
And actually as I think about it, I do have a way to bring you in fairly quickly, so if we get your PC ready within the next couple days or so we can probably get you in game...
+100 post-chargen XP
+1,000 creds
+1 Force Rating so long as your Morality is between 30 and 70 (Tython is a powerful Bendu Nexus)

Hey there! Echani aren't statted out, but since they're just a group of humans without genetic variation (and stable genes that don't degenerate from it) there isn't much of a reason for them TO have stats - I've both played and allowed them in games as just baseline humans. That said, I've checked the timeline a bit and they were only created long after faster-than-light and hyperdrive was invented, so it makes no sense to play one in this setting.
That said, I've created a first draft of a Wookiee character instead and submitted him! Wrrock, a Mystic/Seer (with Niman Discipline as a secondary out of career spec). Going against many of the stereotypes of his people, he's a very calm individual that generally looks for non-violent solutions, but still believes in being able to fight when the need arises - speak softly and carry a big sword. Mechanically, I was going to focus on improving my Force Rating further, and relying on 'boosting' Force Powers out of combat to add force dice to skill checks with Enhance, Influence, Foresee etc. In combat, I'd eventually rely on Move and Niman, but combat wouldn't be the direct focus of the character mechanically to reflect his nature of trying to find alternative solutions.
How does that sound?
As for the story, I'll spend my free time tomorrow between lectures to read up on it! I look forward to seeing what kind of adventures you guys have been having already. For resources, I own Keeping the Peace as well as Disciples of Harmony, and among my group of friends I can get access to literally every book FFG has released so far that isn't an adventure or setting book. I plan on getting Unlimited Power when it releases, so we might be able to add some Je'daii Alchemy in the future...

Since I'm using oggdude's character generator, I also have a PDF version of the character: https://www.dropbox.com/s/wfwfpvicj0tij1g/Wrrock.pdf?dl=0
Should make it easier to track my talent trees and force power expenditures for EXP.
Also, got done reading the IC thread. Seems like things are really heating up with that last group of protesters... Let's see if the diplomats get away unscathed.

Great, thanks for the quick work Silim! You could also put together a "Character Sheet" thread similar to what the others have here, to help you track the various meta-currencies of the system (mainly XP, and Conflict).
I got most of the way through last night, but as you surmised was stuck sorting out some specific purchases between the two Specs, so thanks for the PDF!
My goal is to work you in by Monday if not before. Glad to have you on board.

Posted a thread in the OOC resources with my current standing to track XP and Conflict, also added a link into it to the current PDF in my dropbox so we can keep track of my talent and force trees. Oh, and I rolled for Destiny Points for when I join in and for the Pocket Money you start with.

I made a mistake - I didn't notice that we're not supposed to go over Rarity 5. I got rid of my Ancient Sword (Rarity 8) and grabbed a Training Stick (Nexus of Power, Rarity 3) instead. Going over my equipment again to spend what's left over because of the swap.

Looks good, Silim. If you want to get IC with Wrrock go ahead and roll for Initiative, you're gonna be one of the Journeyers with Allahn, that Tov is now joining up with for the moment and standing off against the crowd.

You're gonna love this, but now that I look at Tov, she should have 4 Soak. 2 Brawn+2 from her Armor :P

Wait, your soak includes your Brawn! Holey rusted metal Batman.
So I took 3 from he bomb and none from that attack leaving her at 9 strain. Man shes golden.

Heh, yea that's a big difference. Though don't forget the 6 Strain she was just dealt.
Tov is up in initiative In Character, if you can't post her round within the next few hours I'll probably do Allahn and the NPCs to keep things moving.

Now that the long weekend is over, how are we voting on this? I'll take the conflict. Tov doesn't like her hands tied up.

So I just read through the IC thread which hopefully got me up to speed. I will get a character up in the next day or so.

I've sent PMs to jkl, Silim, and Zoom inviting them back, I blame myself for pushing that scene too long. But basically if they don't get back to me within a week I'm gonna have to boot them.
Currently I've brought on two new players, and that's all I'm pursuing at this time.

Since the IC thread seems to currently be at a point where folks are crafting their sabers, should I create mine and put up a little montage of that? Or does the GM have a specific way of introducing my character? Whatever is fine with me. Just checking.

Hey Sebastian, so we are currently doing some downtime in between chapters.
And since your PC has up til now just been on one of the other 'shifts' of Ryo Guardians (also newly arrived to the Temple), your PC will also be having their first downtime. So yes, if you want to start crafting your blade (please note there is no such thing as a Lightsaber yet), yes, you can make your check too if that's what you want to do with your downtime.
In-game, if your PC is working on their blade too, you would see Master Genlah talking to another Journeyer, and if it is something your PC would do, you're welcome to introduce yourself in-character now, or wait until the next Chapter starts when I will bring you all together.
One thing: you need to make a forum character sheet if you haven't yet, submit them via the game page, and choose an avatar and all that do you can post IC properly.
Let me know if you have any questions on how to get that all done.

I don't see Flasher going up and interrupting a conversation. He can be pretty friendly, but he also tries to be polite. He will probably lock himself in his room and plow through the crafting.

Nah, you just need a Crystal. Once the physical structure of the blade is crafted you go through a Force-ritual and fuse the crystal with the blade (and the Force). Giving it the ability to Reflect and the augmented Pierce etc.

Hey guys just wanted to check in, let ya know where I'm at. My spouse started working full time again this week (after ~3 mos off for our newborn) and I just haven't had the time to put together the next beginning of the Chapter thread.
Bear with me, just gotta find an evening where the stars align a little better. Thanks for your patience!
