This forum is a place to try the dice roller and formatting options for your posts. Try some things like:

4d6
1d20+5
1d8+1d6-1

Len, will you post a key for what is typically used on GP as far as colors, bold, etc.?

For example, most games use bold print for character speech:

My fighter bellies up to the bar, slaps his hand on the counter, and shouts, Barkeep! Your finest, cheapest ale, if you please!

I'm of two minds about the typical post formatting, but because some people feel strongly about bolded dialogue text, we should probably learn about it. I'll post a link to a public game in the welcome thread so people can see what posts generally look like.

Jacketch wandered into the forum to try his hand at rolling some dice. "So," he said, "We just need to use the advance button and add some dice?" As he started rolling the dice, he thought to himself, I should probably practice hiding some dice rolls to get used to it.
OOC:
Hope I'm getting this right
[ +- ] May as well try doing this too

Gonna try everything actually
Jacketch sent a note to lenpelletier

Edit: I misspelled one of the reasons for a dice roll, damn darn

OOC:
The OOC button automatically makes it blue. By the way, if you ever see some bit of formatting and you wonder how it's done, click on the "Quote" to the bottom right of the post. It'll show the codes, giving you an idea of how it was done.

TheDaykinator says:
I may've messed up my roll in that last post. I tried to do 1d20-1, but my -1 modifier didn't seem to take effect. At least not in any obvious visible way.
I entered this:
1d20-1

You might have added spaces.

(11) - 1 = 10

ahhh yes, that was more than likely my mistake. Ill make sure I remember that for future reference. Thanks @McDunno!

@Lenpelletier would you prefer that I just make an edit to the post & reroll? or is it okay the way it is

No need to edit the post, as I can add the modifier manually to the roll. For future rolls, now you know how to add modifiers :)
