Wow! That's some POW. We could have a magician in our midst!

Any thoughts on what you'd like to play?
Nov 13, 2017 1:52 am
Okay...so I was thinking of playing Lukas Thayer, a professor of Psychology - with a great interest in the occult. (Went professor since have high intelligence and power). I want him to be a fairly young professor, maybe even newly tenured or something. I think I got the points right, please let me know what I need to fix. I'm coming up with a back story.

Professor [Lovecraftian]
Professors are academics employed by colleges and
universities. Larger corporations may also employ
such academics for research and product development.
Independent scholars sometimes help support themselves
by teaching part-time courses.
For the most part, the occupation indicates a Ph.D.—a
rank that can earn tenure at universities around the world.
e professor is quali ed to teach and to perform competent
research, and may have a discernible academic reputation in
his or her area of expertise.
Occupation Skill Points: EDU × 4 (240)
Credit Rating: 20–70
Suggested Contacts: Scholars, universities, libraries.
Skills: Library Use, Other Language, Own Language,
Psychology, any four other skills as academic, era,
or personal specialties.

Remember if he's 20-30 years old, you can make and EDU check and get an extra 1d10 EDU points if you roll over.
Nov 13, 2017 7:42 am
Adding your skills minus their default values, you have spent 355.

You should have 240 for career (assuming you don't get more points from your EDU roll)
and 170 for personal interests, so you have another 55 to spend. Remember based on career, you need at least 20 in credit rating (and 70 at most)

Thanks. I just have the Quick Start Guide, so it doesn't have some of the other things in there.

Didn't roll over 60, so no bonus 1d10. I spent the 55 on skills that were there.

Belief: There is evil in society that needs to be rooted out (What is this evil?)

Significant people: Sibling
Why? They taught you something

Location: A place connected to your ideology/belief

Possession: A memento of a departed person

Trait: Good with animals

You can use any, all or none of these but kieep in mind you need something as your Key - the thing that brings you back to sanity.

Does the significant person need to be alive?

Got a background there now. Please let me know if anything need explained more. :)

It doesn't but if you're using it as a key, you should be able to visit remains (ie grave, marker etc)
Nov 19, 2017 1:06 am
Let me know if everything makes sense. I have him not knowing if she is alive or dead so his place of solitude is his office...basically a library at his home where he has everything he is studying. I'm envisioning her necklace as being a crude attempt to make an elder sign type of star/pentagram.

Yes, all makes sense. There will be a short break before I get you in so stay tuned!
