Yo folks this is my first time ever being in a Numenera game so hopefully I dont mess it up. Thankfully I got the various pdfs and knowledge of the setting and the sheer weirdness of it

Sssh the weirdness is what makes us all special snowflakes made out a crystalized version of a deadly gas. In all seriousness once you get your one sentence everything is either crunch you select or RPing.

No worries. Mechanically, I think it's pretty easy. I'm a new-ish GM so I'm going to be learning how to do intrusions well and whatnot.. long as you guys don't mind me getting up to speed, I'm pleased to have another newbie along!

I too am new to Numenera but have played many different systems and GM quite a but more. I have the system down for the most part, easily enough to play, but will be skimming the books from time to time to refresh.

I'm pretty rusty on Numenera myself, so it sounds like I'll fit right in :)

Other than just dusting off the old hardcover, the Cypher Speak podcast did a great 12 minute Rules Primer episode for anyone wishing to brush up or learn the core mechanics of any Cypher System game, including Numenera. In general, the Cypher Speak podcast is fantastic; Troy and Darcy are two of the best hosts in RPG podcasting.

I'm also completely new to this system. Looking forward to it though!

Apologies that I've been incognito -- I'm on vacation after friday and work is diabolical right now. My vacation is a 'staycation' so I'll have plenty of time to get caught up. I haven't disappeared at all, just working long hours before I disappear from work.

No worries, falryx! The holidays have got me by the nuts at the cake shop as well so I honestly don't think I'll be able to contribute much til after Christmas.

The seasons as well as avoiding the internet for fear of Last Jedi spoilers has kept me away for the last few days.

I hope everyone had a restful holiday / end of year season. I, myself, did a whole lot of nothing. Much time spent with family and playing games with my kids. It was a good time, and I'm actually ready to head back to work tomorrow (and to have the kids back at school).

Can I get a quick role call to see who's back and ready to roll? I think TGR is still due to have his character up -- but we can get rolling without him and when the character is together we can interleave him easily...

Okee dokee. I think I need to give you guys cyphers and oddities -- so I'll get that rolling. Once we're there we should be all set on character generation. I'll recap the group dynamics that you've figured out thus far and we can see if there are open questions we need/want to resolve before pushing this cart down the hill...
