Can you confirm if this is the proper way I should be creating my character?

This is a step by step video that made it easy for me when starting out.

I haven’t watched the video yet but for rolling stats can I decide where each stat goes or do I just place them in the order in which they are rolled?

So according to the video I roll and place them in order but the quick start guide shows a predetermined array. Which do you prefer?

So, yeah, are we chatting about characters, first? Or are we going to create and bring them to the game by ourselves?

I’m game for whatever. Brand new to this game system.

I’m gonna go ahead and just follow the quick start guide and use the stat array. But as far as character back stories I am wide open for ideas.

Whichever you want

I'm down to be siblings! I think I'd like to play a driver. Perhaps my character (and yours?) is the son of a bootlegger and so learned how to drive real fast cars and took that skill to the track when demand for that skill set waned. He was probably just old enough to start driving for dad when Prohibition ended and so didn't ever actually get to do the job.

As to why I'm going along in this case, I think we're probably inseparable, whether we like it or not. One of us is a friend of the college, perhaps? What do you think?

That sounds like fun. I was looking at taking the engineers occupation. I could perhaps be an electric engineering teacher for the university. But not a full professor but respected in the field. I could be the "good" younger brother that stuck to the books while the older brother drove cars and picked up women instead of being concerned with going to school.

Even though we are different we still have a tight bond and I learned how to fight from being beaten up by you when we were young.

Thoughts?

I love it. I'll work on my character tomorrow morning.

Making my rolls for Characteristics.

Edit:
So that gives me...
3d6: 70, 65, 75, 70, 40
2d6+6: 75, 60, 70

Luck: 65
EDU gets no improvement.

I'd like to use the Occupation "Get-Away Driver" from the Pulp Cthulhu book, if that's OK. I've attached a photo of it for reference if you don't have access to it.

Sounds good Shark.
Sclasclemski what kind of weapon were you leaning towards?
Dec 31, 2017 3:40 pm
Honestly didn’t put much thought into it. I guess some kind of handgun.

Got everything done except for weapons and gear. My character has a hod rod type car as his key background connection, given to him by dad as a reward. If that's not appropriate for your game, I can come up with something else. It just made the most sense for who the character is.

Okay, hoping to pick up a few more players since the holidays are over

Hi guys. Thanks for letting me in your game, lunitar. I am new to these forums (this will be my first game) and I have played only a little bit of CoC but I love the system. I will work on making my character! Look forward to playing with you guys.
