Day 1, Evening: The party is approached by a colorfully dressed man who hands them a letter, gives them directions to a place called Barovia beyond the Svalich woods, and then advises them to leave at first light and warns against traveling the woods at night. The letter was written beautifully and stamped with an unfamiliar crest. It is signed Burgomaster Kolyan Indirovich and calls for help concerning a vague evil wounding "The love of his life" Ireena Kolyana.

The party then questioned the bartender about who the man was. He was identified as Vistani, a group of gypsy-like people.

Day 2, Sunrise: Waking in accordance with the late sunrise of the winter, you tracked down the wagons that the Vistani were using and the man which dropped off the letter. He said that he didn't know much about the situation but that the Burgomaster was a wealthy man and would pay them heftily. He also said that Barovia was a dreary place, crawling with wolves and bad weather. He very kindly offered to take them to Barovia as they were both leaving for there anyway.
Late Morning: The party reach the Gate of Barovia with no incident. The gates opened as they approached and closed as they passed. The statement's made about Barovia's atmosphere are confirmed, it being foggy and dim despite it being almost midday.
Early Afternoon: As the gloom continues, the party is dropped off at the Village of Barovia. Arrigal instructs them to come to his camp when they have a chance and suggests they get their fortunes read. He then takes off with no farther discussion. Ryn and Wil look around to see signs of life and find two unhappy children on a nearby street and a light on in a far building, the only man-made light they can see. They chose to assist the children who pleaded for the party to assist their brother, Walter, who is just a baby and protect him from the "monster in the basement". They wondered into the house and traveled fast to the third floor, on which they spotted a secret door in the hall. On the way to pry it open, they were assaulted by a set of animated armor whom they dispatched with minimal issue. They opened the panel and sent Wil in to investigate while Baroth heard a noise and pursued it to the master bedroom, in which Baroth realizes it is simply the wind. While Wil was investigating, he found a locked door and, while searching another bedroom, he heard noises emanating from beyond it. He gathered the rest of the party and, ready for a fight, they opened the door to find a sad sight. Two skeletons sat in the middle of the room, baring an uncanny resemblance to the children from outside. Wil chose to investigate the dollhouse, as it was a perfect replica of the house, and found many secrets hidden in the house. While this was happening, however, the children's ghosts appeared and, following a brief discussion, were allowed to possess Ryn and Baroth.
Late Afternoon: The party proceeded to the secret staircase leading to the basement, lead by a conviction to kill the monster that the children spoke of. The party found themselfs in a dark series of passages. After discovering the children's crypt, Baroth and Greymond traveled back for the bodies while Ryn and Wil explored on. They encountered a room with bones strewn about the floor and spotted movement in an alcove. They killed the Grick living there just as Baroth and Greymond returned with the skeletons. Wil decided to go off on his own and explored what looked like bedrooms, raiding chests filled with personal effects. Meanwhile, the rest of the party put the children's ghosts to rest. The party then joined Wil in raiding the remaining chests before traveling down a hallway toward the chanting that permeated the place only to have a brush with death in the form of a spike trap.
Evening: The party continued on down a stairway until they reached a room decorated with odd objects. They found the source of the chanting to be within a grand chamber which they gained access to through a secret door. They climbed upon a central dias surrounded by water and were then surrounded by thirteen faceless, floating, hooded figures, chanting for a sacrafice. They tried to avoid the consequences by a variety of methods, all failing, before the last person left the dias. A mound of refuse then shuttered to life and, after a brief scuffle, the party was forced to flee. They decided to return up the staircase and were met with a horrifying sight. The entire house had metamorphosed into a writhing death trap full of smoke and spinning blades.
