The Order

This thread is not meant for gameplay, but for secret information for The Order of the Gauntlet.
This faction is primarily a military organization made up of paladins, clerics, and monks. Members of the order are faithful and vigilant seekers of justice who protect others from the depredations of evildoers. They exact swift retribution against those who violate the law.

Atop a high crest in the Sumber Hills stands Summit Hall, home to the Knights of Samular. This venerable order of paladins of Tyr strives to promote justice in the savage North. The Order of the Gauntlet hopes to expand its influence in the region by joining the Knights to its cause.

In the western Sumber Hills, the order has little political influence. It hopes to correct this weakness by establishing alliances with local leaders who share its goals, such as the Waterbaron of Yartar. The order is even pursuing negotiations with fringe organizations.

Imdarr Relvaunder is a priest of Tempus in the Allfaiths Shrine (area 1). He is a contact for the Order of the Gauntlet.
We should discuss where in the Forgotten Realms you're from, and how you came to be here on behalf of the Order. Is it from Xella's pursuit of ruthless murderer, Bastian Thermandar, and if so, why did Sorgrimm accompany her? When did Sorgrimm have his vision, or is that why he came, too?

Sorgrimm hails from Helm’s Hold southeast of Neverwinter but is loyal to the Order and to Helm so has little problem with following orders even begrudgingly. I feel as if Xella has been tasked with finding Bastion and I was assigned to her as a partner in the task. My vision I feel has come during our travels and no one else knows about it besides Xella and myself.

The vision, presumably given to me by Helm or one of his Angels, showed me images of the earth prophet, Marlos Urnrayle, in dreams and knows that Marlos is a dangerous villain who must be stopped.

Now that we are in Red Larch I will probably want to seek out Imdarr and seek his council on the matter and perhaps ask him to send a message back to our superiors.

Don’t know how we want to loop in the other factions though. Perhaps we were ordered to work with them to gain intel on Bastion?

Based on my brief research, I'd say Xella is from the region of Elturgard. We came here in pursuit of the murderer, but rumors of other dark happenings may keep us in the area for longer.

Unfortunately, Imdarr Relvaunder does not recognize the symbol described. He suggests that if you could draw it, he might be able to request information from his contacts.

Ok, maybe I will pay the necromancer a quick visit in jail and see if I can convince him to draw it for me." Sorgrimm leaves in search of the constable’s building.

Upon finding Imdarr I ask him about the delvers and what he knows of the elders of the town. If they are nefarious in any way.

- would it be ok to handwave me getting a sketch of the symbol I asked about previously and just giving it to Imdarr now? I honestly completely forgot about it?

OOC:
No problem on the sketch retcon. Just waiting to allow a couple others to post, but I'll respond anyway by tonight.

Imdarr Relvaunder isn't a very good rumormonger, at least in this instance. He knows nothing of the of behaviour of the elders.

Chapter 3
The delegation was also transporting the body of a knight who was killed fighting orcs in the Spine of the World. The knight was to be interred with honor at Summit Hall, the chapter house of an order called the Knights of Samular. It lies in the southeast Sumber Hills.

I took a quick look at the descriptions of the different factions and I think I’d prob fall into the Order category. It would also fit into my thoughts for my monk progression, especially with the Recover your Sword adventure hook, and my chosen monastic tradition - the Kensei monk.
