In-Character Thread - Chapter 2, Vur Tepe

"Is there any sign that they are trying to plan more? I have only seen them be accosted so far. What harm could a few diplomats do?" Her lake of keeping up with current politics is clear. Watching her spar it is clear that is where most of her time goes. Books and current events seem to be at the back of her mind.

Safiya lounged back in her chair. This was all rather boring, but she couldn't let the elders know that their lectures were dull. But, since all she wanted was to learn the ways of this 'Force' thing, then these were the people she needed to befriend, and, for now, obey.
However, the idea of getting to charm some people, to coax some information out of them sounded like something right up her alley. And fun!
Behind her lekkus she twirled her hand, urging this conversation onward. Enough of the boring questions, she thought to herself, on with the mission!

Flasher lounged in his chair not unlike Safiya. However, the Nautalon hung on every word the Master said. He almost had a constant smile on his face throughout the meeting. He either had an excellent Sabacc face or he was thoroughly enjoying himself.

As Offee's question was answered he cracked his knuckles. "Let us help the Master's in their contemplation by seeing what we can find out. Ah, so many directions to go..."

"The Ryo hangar. I hope I am not the only one listening." She grabs her training sword and heads toward the hangar not waiting to see if the others follow.

Safiya tags along, taking in the scenes as they approach they're destination. "So," she's says kind of suddenly after several minutes of silence, "why's everyone here?" It's obviously a broad questioqn, but she's hoping this crew will open up, some insight into who they are or what motivates them.

"I grew up here. The temple is all I've known. Not that I know it that well. I spent most of my time sparring." She says within looking back.

Flasher scratched the back of his neck. "Yeah, I almost grew up in the temple as long as Tov. But I can still vaguely remember my parents. From what I'm told, I was sent here because I had a knack for getting into places I was never supposed to be in the first place. I think I drove my parents insane." He smiled at that. "Now I drive the Masters insane instead."

"Oh, a woman female combatant, how wonderful. Personally I think fighting is barbaric. It never solves anything. Just death. Personally I value life. If one can bring people together peacefully, then there'd be no need for fighting. Am I right? But until such a time, could you be a doll and watch my back? I detest carrying a weapon of any kind."

"You are correct Safiya. I do wish for peace. If you could somehow end conflict fighting that would be great. I train my body to the height of its potential, it has nothing to do with combat. It just so happens I am very good if one was to break out. So yes I can watch your back Safiya." She walks a few more feet as if contemplating something said. Wait, if you don't use weapons how do you plan on graduating? (Not sure what it is called when we become Je'daii) You need to have weapon training just like I need to learn to talk to people."

"I don't need a season to graduate," she paused, then added, "do I?" She waved a hand dismissively, "a wise man once said, 'the tongue is sharper than the sabre.'" There was another short pause, "or something like that," she added with a laugh. "From my understanding," she continued with an air of confidence, "we don't need to be versed in the combat arts in order to become a master anyway."

"Why would not want to try. We are taught balance in body, mind and the force. I must work on my mind but it will be an uphill battle."

"Some people have told me I need to work on my mind as well. I tend to think I have a quick wit. Others say I merely have a quick tongue. The Masters say there is a difference." Flasher smiled yet again. "I try to stay humble though. Although I've heard that too much humility is pride. But the Masters say humility is well worth it. Although I've known Masters who should follow their own advice."

"Careful how you speak of the Masters, especially while still on temple grounds." Her tone athoritative then she walks in sinlence for a while.
"But you are not wrong."
