Bragg

You make your way down stairs and see a male halfling behind the counter, you know this to be Hart Hilltop, the 'better half' of the inn if you ask him. He nods as you catch eyes but continues with his work.

Bragg walks down the stairs, and slowly looks for a free table somewhere near a corner out of the way, his head is still slightly foggy from the ale last night. He spots just the table in a darker corner of the tavern, and of course picks the wobbly chair. Bragg sits for a moment catching his thoughts.

I definitely needed that last night, 2 weeks on the road with a bunch of priests and their followers on their pilgrimage is way too long of a time and probably would drive any sane man to the brink of insanity, and I was close to that brink...

He catches the eye of Hart, and requests I'm looking for a hearty breakfast and half a tankard of ale

"It'll be right with you in a moment." Hart calls out, scribbling on a piece of paper and sending it back into the kitchen.

Perception check, please.

Bragg sits and waits, he knows how it is at some of these places, and his patronage is not as respected as others. He gives out a heavy sigh.

As you place your order, behind your back, you overhear a remark made towards you in hushed lips 'Typical; ale at this hour.'
Mar 20, 2018 5:43 pm
Bragg turns around, and ask quite bluntly,

And what hour is this hour?

You turn to see two elvish men, older in years, smirking. As soon as your turn though, their smirks vanish and one of them, you assume the one who didn't make the comment, immediately plants his head down and focuses on his plate. The other stammers, obviously fearful that he got caught "Uh, uh, uh. I'd say it's about 9 in the morning."
Mar 20, 2018 8:41 pm
9 in the morning, isn't that the time you'd said you'd buy me breakfast and drink?

Bragg says as he smiles at the Elf.
OOC:
And that's terrible glad to get the poor rolls out of the way

The elfish man stammers more and looks at his friend, who is feverishly picking at his food, before looking back at you "Sorry, I don't recall saying anything of that sort. Now, if you'll excuse I am quite full and have something to attend." He stands up, giving Bragg a wide birth, and drops a folded paper at the far end of his table. He stammers "Consider this a sort of endorsement for being mistaken in the promised meal."

You notice the elf who left his plate is almost full, and after a short moment, his friend follows after him; his plate is around half full.

Bragg gets up grabs the paper and sits down in front of the fullest plate, he opens the letter and reads while he gorges on the perfectly left behind food, and without a skip he forks the leftovers from the other plate into the one.

this looks promising, and I've just finished my last job and my plate is clean..... As is this one

I get up after finishing the gratuitous meal, i approach the bar hoping to grab an ale for the road.
Mar 21, 2018 1:10 am
Hart looks up as you approach the bar, not halting his disk cleaning task though "Sorry for the wait, I'm sure your meal will be done any..." Just as he is about to finish, there is a call from the back "ORDER!" Hart smiles at Bragg "Speak of the dickens." He sets the mostly clean dish aside and retrieves your ordered meal, bringing back a plate of eggs, pancakes, sausage, and fruits. He grabs a tankard and fills it half way "Here you go, sir, again I apologize for the wait." He doesn't seem to notice that not that much time has passed since you ordered and since you approached.

ughhhh thanks Bragg says grimacing. He dumps the plate into his sack, and slams the tankard. He quickly goes upstairs grabbing his gear and trying to throw the room together, so that he won't be blacklisted if he returns. Bragg storms down the stairs nearly bowling over some other patrons walking down the stairs.
He bellows to hart thanks for the place, and food
As he storms out he almost forgets to pay for his breakfast, which he promptly drops a couple of silver onto the bar, then barrels through the front door headed to the docks.

Hart quickly raises a hand "You're most welcome!" he calls out as you rush out. As you reach the docks you see a gathering has amassed; a human male, an elven female, a male dwarf, a female dragonborn, a female dwarf, the female halfling, a male tiefling, and some sort of cat person.

Yep, consider access granted for the main thread. And for the record, the establishment doesn't look down on "lesser" races, it is the occasional customers that do. Hart looks down on it in fact, which is why there is the 'handle your own' policy.
