TOWNSFOLK OF WHITESPARROW
Sheriff Ruth Willowmane: The true protector and unofficial leader of the village. The middle-aged sheriff has served the people of Whitesparrow for 20 years, serving in the Arkasian army for fifteen years before that. She has a good heart and loves the people of the village who always look to her when trouble arises. The heroes have earned the sheriff's trust.
Matthew Willowmane: Ruth's twin brother, Matthew serves as an advisor to her sister and seems to go everywhere she does.
Amanda Jess: Owner of the Summerspring Inn, Amanda enjoys meeting visitors to Whitesparrow, and she has an eye for people. She spends most of her time working on renovations to her inn, which is always in need of shoring up or reinforcing on account of the structure being built on a natural hotspring.
Rose Jess: Amanda's daughter, who worked at her mother's inn but dreamed of a more exciting life. Tried to work a stint with the Night Blades to earn enough money to escape, only to be taken prisoner by the party on her first mission. She is deeply ashamed of her mistake.
Philcock Deadcleft: The manager of the Summerspring Inn and longtime employee of Amanda Jess. He is a small, ugly rumormonger who turns out spied on his patrons for the Night Blades. Deadcleft wears clothes of a noble cut but in poor condition and always smells terrible.
Gavun Grayhorn: Former adventurer and member of the Arkasian Adventurer's Guild, now the proprietor of Grayhorn Outfitters. He once travelled far and wide, but fortune always eluded him. When one adventure left him the only survivor of his group, Gavun retired to start his business and serve the caravans passing through the local area. Now there's almost nobody who comes through Whitesparrow. Such is the luck of Gavun Grayhorn.
THE NIGHTBLADES
Ralavaz: Former leader of the Night Blades, the original Night Lord who terrorized the village of Whitesparrow 20 years ago. Has been imprisoned for his crimes all this time, but recently earned his freedom. It has been suspected that the new resurgence in the Night Blades has been his doing, bent on revenge.
Gardren: Ralavaz's brother and former member of the Night Blades. Believed dead (burned alive by vengeful townsfolk) until recently when it was discovered that he is behind the golden mask of the Night Lord this time around.
Bitchy, Clubs, Skeetz, and Red Beard: Night Blades that were part of a strike team to murder our heroes. They failed: Bitchy and Clubs perished in the attempt, while Skeetz and Red Beard were taken prisoner. Later, when the heroes tried to use Skeetz and Red Beard to infiltrate the Lonely Tower, Skeetz turned on the players and helped his brothers to kill or capture most of the party. Skeetz is the only survivor of this group of four.
Grubber: Another Night Blade who perished in the attack on the Lonely Tower.
