I'm in Normandy from tomorrow morning until Saturday on a battlefield tour, so I shan't be able to post. Kaiten's going to follow on passively for now, or at least until I'm back and posting again.

Hey guys, I’m really sorry to say this but I think it’s probably for the best if I pull out of the game. I’ve been pretty much overwhelmed by exam work, and it’s sucking the enjoyment out of posting anything really, so rather than hold things up it’s probably for the best if I just drop out. Enjoy the game, it’s a solid concept and I think you’ll all enjoy it.

Alas, the good Colonel had to leave. It's a shame. But since we just started, I've decided to let in a player who messaged me about the game. It shouldn't be too hard to retcon him in since, as mentioned, we just started.

Hey, don't worry Kirka. This is my first time GMing. We'll roll with the punches. Thankfully some of the other players know what they are doing. By the way, you can post and roll that perception check. Just pretend like you've been with the party since the start.
By the way, I'm at the tail end of finals so that's why its been relatively slow. I might have a post up tomorrow afternoon. Otherwise it will be over the weekend. Thankfully finals will be done though.

From what I've seen and having been a player in a few, the player describes how he wants to use the advantages, leaving of course the GM leeway to veto it if it is too wild. Generally, small and obvious things are done without the GM's approval (strain and the like) while bigger things are asked of the GM.

Just a note, Kirka's character is retconned to have been with the party since it left the Imperial base on the planet. Basically, he was picked as a member of the scouting team along with everyone else.

Why is it I can't view other characters stats? When I click on "Fiksu Ketta" on the Game home screen, or even his avatar I can see all his stats, but I can't do that with any other character.

As far as I know that is a Gamers Plane thing. I can see everyone's character sheet as a GM but I find it rather irritating as a player. If y'all want, I can start a thread where you can post your full character sheet. That we you can peruse what your fellow PCs' strengths and weaknesses are.

This actually came up yesterday in another game I'm in, if you go into your character library there's a book symbol on the right side. Gray: You and GM only can see it

To do that everyone has to hit the "add to library" button for their character On this page. This adds them to the public library so anyone can look at.

Super helpful, I've been able to see what you all have put in your characters, so for uniformity I've added some more info to mine. Specifically, species specific information under the talents sections, and 0 rank career skills.

That would be a hard check with a black because of the dark and an upgrade from me flipping a destiny point (if you roll the check that is).

When it comes to Play-by-post fight scenes, specifically Star Wars FFG, there are three ways I have seen turn order go. #1 and the most time-consuming is you players hashing out turn order every round since anyone can go in a PC slot. #2 is first come, first serve. Basically, whoever posts first gets that slot. And #3 is everyone uses their initiative slot that they rolled.
#1 is probably too time-consuming for the rate of play this PBP is operating on. I tend to lean towards first come, first serve (option #2) but whatever you guys as players want, I can roll with.
Of course, if you can't pick or take too long, I just might make an executive decision.

I think first come first serve is the most practical for pbp games, especially when the game system easily allows it like FFGSW

So, I don't understand this first combat cycle. They have the first turn and used it to get closer, but how do we attack them if we don't know where they are?

To use D&D terminology, they used their surprise round to get in close, and then regular initiative starts.

The ones who just threw the bolas are pretty close together. The other two groups are on either side of them further apart.

That would be a simple Gunnery check. I assume the lantern is on around you so no setback.

It all depends on where the enemy is. Short Range is one purple die, Medium Range is two, Long is three.

I got home after work and read my EOtE manual page 155 about my weapons Cumbersome trait. It says for each point of Brawn the character is deficient he must increase the difficulty of all checks made while using the weapon by 1I checked this against the "Upgrade versus Increase" Side bar on page 22 which says that increasing difficulty is just adding more purple die, not upgrading to red die.
So to answer my own question I should roll against 1 purple die for short range plus 2 more purple die for a cumbersome weapon.

I had to figure that out before I rolled. It was a little confusing and I just scribbled some notes on paper while I reread the posts. Something that helped while I took notes was merely assigning the groups a number 1 through 4, and I could track with the action better. By my count groups 3 and 4 are dead and group 2 has 1 wounded.

Sorry y'all. I must apologize for the lack of...everything. A lot happened since that vacation/retreat. And on top of that I got sick for a week. Certain life events have made me continuing to GM iffy. All good stuff happening (nothing horrible in that life-changing sense) but I might not be able to keep up the pace if certain things happen.
But they haven't happened yet so I'm going to keep on trucking with this game until I get confirmation either way. ;-)
Since it has been awhile, could I get a roll-call of all the people who are still here and kicking. Hopefully I haven't scared off you guys with my absence.
