Zusom and Kelen hang back as the rest of the group leaves to scout the rendezvous. Just a pair of scoundrels looking to do scoundrel things. Based on the maps Prime had, the spaceport sits in a relatively residential sector, with the industrial area (and the rendezvous) to the west. The spaceport is almost empty. Two bays down, a pair of Duros are loading some boxes onto a small ship. A man who appears to be the dockmaster sits alone in a corner with a drink and a deck of cards. There are no speeders in sight.
OOC:
I hadn't anticiated this, but I'm always up for some surprise larceny :) Let's run this as relatively free play for now.Jun 8, 2018 5:27 pm
Sugo shifts about awkwardly in his stance as he gauges the scene, perhaps unconsciously mirroring Kel's posture before speaking to him in low tones, "I don't foresee attaining a transport being much trouble, however, my concern is the possible ...ehm, legal... repercussions afterward. I'd like it if we could first get a feel for the locals feelings towards their Imperial overseers... and vice versa.
Perhaps we start our effort somewhere not so close to our starship-home though?", Sugo looks for a holonet panel or directory, and goes to get out of the immediate area of the spaceport, somewhere where observers can't link them and their potential questions and actions directly to a ship they've been seen to walk out of.

"I'm usually not around to see what kind of legal repercussions there are. But you're right, lets get a feel for the people first." Kel looks at the public access computer systems to see if they would be worth slicing for information as Sugo and he walk out of the spaceport.
Glancing at Sugo with a smirk, Kel says, "Relax, no matter how tense the situation, the more relaxed you look, the less people notice you." As he continues to talk conversationally with his partner, Kel is casing everything in eyesight: potential entry and egress points, computers that he could access, beings he could potentially get information from, and especially a speeder he could get his hands on.

As the pair approaches a beat up old terminal, the man at the table chuckles. "That hunk of junk hasn’t worked since I was a boy. The only record of what comes in this port is right here." With that taps his glass against his temple and flashes a crooked smile. "Wasn’t worth fixin’ before, and now, well, the less that’s written down the better, in case the bucket-heads come poking around. You boys new here? I can’t point you in the right direction, although there ain’t much to see."
Jun 9, 2018 12:47 pm
Smiling at the man, Kel responds, "That's a pretty good idea with keeping the terminals down in case the Empire tries to audit the records." He pulls out his datapad and makes a show of making a note to himself about record keeping tactics. "My shipping company is looking to see if we can't get in on a little trade and transport business and make a few credits."
Kel looks around the dilapidated spaceport and continues, "My partner and I here are looking to procure some speeder transport if possible in case we can strike a deal today. Know of anywhere I could get my hands on one?"
If allowed, I'd like to utilize the advantage to include Sugo into the whole deception and remembered details. Something like if the man is asked to recall who he talked to, he either only remembers one man or he misremembers what Sugo looks like)
Also, in case it comes up later: if the man tries to remember who Kel is, the difficulty is upgraded by 1 due to my Indistinguishable talent.

OOC:
Deception roll (1 Triumph/Success, 2 advantage) in case you need it for the story about us being a shipping company looking for business. Kel is just trying to create a cover story in case something goes awry or the group needs to fall back on it in conversation. He'll broadcast the particulars to the rest of the group over encrypted transmission as soon as he gets a chance (it's what he was actually writing out on his datapad when he was taking notes). If allowed, I'd like to utilize the advantage to include Sugo into the whole deception and remembered details. The man gives an exaggerated look of offense. "Careful there, friend. I didn't say anything about keeping the terminals down. Just haven't had the chance to fix them. I don't give a nerf's tongue about your trade and transport. Got it? Pay your docking fees, and I won't ask no questions. As for speeders, don't know if you'll have much luck. Most folks use the tram to get around the city, and the rail out to the mines. No one heads out into the waste, not even when this place was busy. There used to be an old mechanics shop a few blocks south. Haven't been down that way in a while, not sure if it's still open, but if so, that might be your best bet."

As the man begins to speak, Sugo feels around the man's words like baubles passing through his hands. Then he traces them back to their place of origin - as he has found he can do for some years now - he lets the Force flow through him even as the man's words flow through it. Sometimes what one speaks is not what one thinks... you fear the Imperials, don't you? What more is in there in your thoughts...
But as the man's fear threatens to spill into his own thoughts he let's the moment pass... and his dialogue with the Force.

"No offense intended, friend. How much for the docking fees?" Kel asks as he holds out a cred stick to pay. "Thanks for the info, I think we might just use the rail and work out transportation of goods when the time comes."
After paying, Kel heads out with Sugo. A few moments later he says in a low voice, "Let's check out that mechanics shop and see what we can find. If there's nothing there, we'll just continue on to the mines and meet up with the others."

Sugo nods, "Agreed. And who knows, if this train is as serviceable as it sounds, we may even yet arrive at the rendezvous before they do.", you think the kel dor just made a very dry jest. But between the cloth wrapping, eye shields, and anti-ox mask, it's hard to tell.

You make your way south, towards this possible mechanic. The streets are mostly deserted, but on intersection has a few occupied buildings and as you arrive, you see a group of workers depart a tracked vehicle which rumbles away to the east. After a bit of wandering, you arrive at what appears to be the mechanic in question. A faded sign reading Galaxy Spanners sits atop the door. Posted in the window is a note which reads, Out to lunch. Be back soon. As you read the sign a small, old woman shuffles by. She chuckles. "You'll find no luck there boys. Fellen has been out to lunch for three days. Likely he's passed out at Shana's." With a polite nod she shuffles away.

It's Passive check time! Add a check of your choice in your next post to better examine the scene. You don't need to (and often shouldn't) use your best skills, since some will give more information than others.Jun 13, 2018 10:34 pm
Sugo nods a thanks to the passerby, then places his hand on the buildings wall. To anyone observing him he might appear to be stabilizing himself by leaning on the structure a little... But in truth, he is connecting with the Force, reaching out through it, to see see what other life-forms it may be flowing through inside the building, or in the area.
After the moment passes, he scans the greater area, with all his physical awareness.

Three days, huh? Even better.
Kel casually glances at the shop, taking in details, but keeping himself outwardly aloof and non-interested. This sort of thing is second nature to him as he cases the building for ways in, ways out, and what might be worth "acquiring."

Sugo scans the area, both with his eyes and the Force, looking for any potential interlopers. The street seems deserted, besides the little old lady shuffling away, but his sight beyond sight fails him, and he gains no insight into the interior of the shop.
Kelen, however, strikes gold. The building has 2 entrances, front and back, both locked. During his survey, though, he discovers a window that leads into a small lavatory, and that window is unlocked, and easily opened from the outside.

"Sugo, mate, there's a window here I think I can get into. If you keep watch, I'll slip in and unlock the back door from the inside to let you in as well," Kel says as he readies himself for a quick slip in. "Just act casual..."
When a character needs to go somewhere without being seen, it often requires him to balance upon unstable surfaces, crawl through narrow openings, or even to tumble down from a dangerous height. Overcoming these types of challenges requires a tremendous sense of balance and a heightened degree of flexibility. While both of those abilities depend heavily upon a person's natural characteristics, they can be further developed through regimens of practice and exercise.
Any time a character needs to contort his body into an unusual position, Coordination is used to calculate the dice pool. Note that some species may be inherently more flexible than the norm. This benefit is discussed in their species description where applicable.

Kelen slips in easily as Sugo tries the door. There is no answer and Kelen finds the shop completely deserted. He opens the back door and the pair survey their new surroundings. The shop is full of various pieces of machinery, most of them covered with a thin layer of dust. In the back of the shop is an unlocked door that opens into a small garage. A beat-up old SoroSub passenger landspeeder sits on the floor. It looks like it hasn't been touched for years.
Jun 19, 2018 11:50 pm
Sugo looks around for a calendar hanging in the wall, or documents, post, anything that might give a hint as to when the last time was that someone was here.
Jun 20, 2018 1:39 am
Seeing the speeder, Kelen smiles at Sugo and says, "Ah, there she is. You know anything about speeders?"
