Welcome Mr_autoklash! There are many games, and generally character creation comes after you join a game, rather than before. Not that you can't build something in advance, but there are dozens of game systems with many individual tweaks.

If you are looking for a specific type of game, like zombie apocalypse, have a look through the Games Tavern thread... That's where most people post for games they're interested in playing or running.

I'm in the midst of trying to write up some rules for a zombie game that I'd be happy to play test in a small way. It's still getting some polish and review currently. :)
