So I'm looking to GM a Shadowrun 5e game, but I want to know, what part of the world would you be interested in? If you've played before what did you like most?
Just trying to brainstorm some ideas.

As you know, I'm in. The character I'm looking at running is Japanese, but speaks english too and could easily be wherever. I haven't really got a place preference, I can adapt it.

I know there's a Japan setting. Veeery different than Seattle ot CAS... But depends what style people want.
I'll make a gamr lobby when more people have input.

I don't know that I have the bandwidth for another game right now, so count this as an "interested", but not committed 😣

That said I really enjoyed running a game set in Denver, but as players it can be kind of brutal...

Whhhatttt the dystopian cyberpunk game is brutalll?

But yeah. It really is, considering a lucky shot from a ganger can kill any player. Yeah.

I'm interested if you need an extra. I'm in a lot of games so don't bump anyone to save a spot for me.

The Seattle base is cool, but I'd love to explore any corner of the world.

Note: I played one campaign (2nd edition?) IRL about 15 years ago.

Also, I'm a pretty new GM, so if that puts anyone off I just wanted to put that out there. I'll do my best for you all though!

Well, if you're not familiar with Denver in the SR universe, it's basically the new economic and political center of the Americas, and it has a lot of national Zones separated by walls and checkpoints.

Shadowrunners and checkpoints don't get along...

Oh yeah! I've heard that. Alot of transportation/smuggling there. .. Another idea.

Looking for 4-5 interested players before I start the game.
We could play in a few places:
Seattle: the shadowrun sandbox. Play black trenchcoat, pink Mohawk, street level, any game style...
Denver: a lot of red tape and being watched. Rigger love. Youll use those knowledge skills.
Japan: professional. Black trench coat. Very different culture.

I've seen people use a ton of different ideas: Ork underground rebels, eco warriors, all shifters, and things like that too. Throw it out if you think of it.

You'll be good to go with 5E then Qralloq. With the exception of a wireless Matrix, it's a 100% throwback to 2E.

Re-instituted cyberdecks (after going to "all smartphones can hack")

2E-style Initiative (after going to a "Initiative Passes" system)

Priority Character Creation (after using a broken point-buy method)

If you remember any of that anyway :P

Ok, that happened fast.... Game is full. Will update if spot opens.

Nice. The only thing I'd say is that the brutality of Denver would kinda put me off, at least since I've never played before.

Ugh, it kills me but I just can't commit to it right now.

I'd say let someone else in, or move on without me.

aye - declared interest the other day in the chat and I came back on today and it was practically full. I understand if you don't really want 6 players. Just let me know and I'll continue to look for a game.

Chefboyardy can have my spot. As mentioned before, I'm already in a lot of games so I'm happy to sit this one out.

I've dropped out. Chefboyardy, click here... and apply to join.

I did that and it now says slots are available still. So you must not have been.only one. As for type of game i like a mix of pink Mohawk and trench coat. If we have a higher number of players i say general shadowrun. And if you are new to GMing i would recommend Seattle. If it winds up being a smaller group a pi firm would be cool or detectives. Considering this is your run of the mill game what roles are people planning on playing? Part of me wants to do a street sam with a focus on cyber legs. Another part of me wants to try a mystic adept or somethibg magical.

I decided I could make it work if you all keep to posting At Least once a day.

Also, the meta type house rules worries me a bit - you may end up with a bunch of vampire pixies or something.

I'll have to look at the HMHVV stuff to see if it'll unbalance us.
If it does I may just throw a few Karma at my non infected players. Or I may make my infected player's lives as inconvinent as they should be.
Or a mix.
