Taconic Mountain Confidential [ EDIT ]

This game has been retired! That means it's no longer being run.
It's eastern New York, 1935. In recent years, there's been more than a few strange happenings, weird rumours, and odd disappearances. Now, a child has been kidnapped, and you're on the scene.

Ask questions, follow the clues, and decipher the truth... if you can believe what you find.

This is an OFFICIAL free handout that explains how to build an investigator.

http://site.pelgranepress.com/trail/files/Trail_of_Cthulhu_Condensed_Rules.pdf

It's got step by step directions, but make note of these three things as you go through the instructions.

1) You have 16 Investigative points. You can hold up to 3 Investigative points, not assigning them to any skill. YOu can then assign them to a skill on the fly. Once assigned to a skill, they stay there permanently.
2) You can buy up to 2 Mythos points; more must be earned.
3) You cannot use anything marked as Pulp.

Also, there's a few things that you'll need to be sure to include in your character's build.
1) You must be one or more of these things:
-- an official or private investigator in the New England area.
-- someone with ties to the Corneliszes, a wealthy Massachusetts family.
-- someone with ties to the occult.
-- At LEAST one character needs to be with either the police or the FBI. Once we have one of those, the rest of the characters can be pulled into the story by that one character if they're not official investigators.

2) The mythos is almost completely unknown, even to those who otherwise investigate these things.

3) All investigators get one free point of Cop Talk OR Evidence Collection.

4) Everyone should have a credit rating of 3 or more.
