Fate of the Universe [ EDIT ]

This is a game that is to see how well I can GM, and also share with others about the universe that I have been building since I was very young. I am willing to accept players' changes to the world to an extent, as I learn that players should also have a little influence to the setting when they play to make it be more fun. (though I can't say if I am fun, please let me know if you wish)
Background Story: Once upon a time, in a universe at the mercy of an ultimate god, there exists a war between those that have ascended to godhood, and the Creator of the universe and it's fate. The culmination of this war is the destruction of the physical governing presence of the Creator, The Government. To the majority of humanity, they don't know much of this incident, but many millenniums afterwards, the rise of interstellar organisations, known as Factions, has suddenly formed within a quick period of time. Around that same time, a collection of alien beings from beyond the universe have started invading it, and some of the Factions may or may not be interested in the fight against the new threats...
"Welcome on board the Galactic Orb, the massive spaceship that acts as the hub for squads of mercenaries and loyal officers for the United Worlds' Project. We are glad to have you all joining us, as no doubt we are experiencing the final years of our world. Some of you might come from worlds full of fantasy and magic, while others may have been from a technologically advanced civilisation. Whatever you are, and wherever you came from, we thank you for your brave service."

We'll be using the Fate Core system. So character generation will be using the Fate Core SRD rules, and some additional homebrew which will be given in a thread. You can go for any sort of theme for your character, and we'll discuss it in a thread.
The party will be going through a couple of missions, doing jobs like inquisitors or diplomats. After a few missions(probably 2 or 3), then the party can have an open exploration of sorts.
