Nestled on the coast of the Azure Sea is Saltmarsh, a sleepy fishing village that sits on the precipice of destruction. A thriving community with fealty to the Kingdom of Keoland, the village is not without its share of worldly problems.
Smugglers guide their ships to hidden coves, willing to slit the throat of anyone fool enough to cross their path. Cruel creatures of the nearby marshlands and ocean plot ways to throw out the coastal cities. Drowned sailors stir to unnatural life, animated by dark magic and sent forth in search of revenge.
Cults of forbidden gods look for ways to extend their reach outward from decaying ports, hungry for fresh victims and willing recruits. While Saltmarsh slumbers, the evils that seek to plunder it grow stronger. Heroes must arise to keep the sea lanes safe for all.

One of my players (A gnome wizard) got hit with a life-smack and had to drop. I need a new spell-slinger.
All characters will begin at first level. Utilize the point-buy system for character generation. While many will not like it, only races from the PHB are going to be used, and I am not allowing feats.
I prefer players that have a working knowledge of Greyhawk, the setting of Saltmarsh, and your character MUST HAVE a solid background woven into the world backdrop.
I will be using the upcoming release, due to drop on May 21st, so the game will start AFTER that. i am setting a potential start of early June.
I want dedicated players. If you are already playing in a dozen games, don't apply here. I would rather have someone who is playing in a few games (four or less) and gives quality, story-centered posts than someone who swings by every couple of days and rushes their post because they have a dozen others to get to.
Lastly, if you have familiarity with DND Beyond, you can create your character there and send me a link. I have a full account with all sources, so if you need to create a character and want to coordinate using one of my campaigns to do so, let me know and we can arrange it.
