The Temple of Gugglagath [ EDIT ]
This game has been retired! That means it's no longer being run.
The temple is the domain of the Green Lord, god of plants and growth. Many strange plant-like creatures escaped its surroundings, causing trouble everywhere they creep. For generations, brave people tried to close down the rift to the Feywild in its center, but none returned.
- There are 5 artifacts that previous adventurers took in but never brought out.
- There are 7 party achievement, each granting a level.
- There are several safe places where the game will be saved. Yes. The PCs are going to die, many times. Load the last save game, and try again.
Mostly dungeon crawl on my part, any amount of roleplay on the players' part. The temple and its surroundings is a huge dungeon 50 miles across, all overgrown with scary, weird, strange, aggressive plant life. There will be some spots for roleplaying with the inhabitants inside, but that's an opportunity, not compulsory.
The place itself, however, has a story, and without discovering it there is no chance of success, regardless of the levels and combat capability of the PCs. So it's also exploration, not just endless fighting. I suppose there will be longer periods of investigating, putting the pieces together, and understanding the location's workings.
I will take account of food, and sometimes water, and sometimes exhaustion, and other supplies, so gear up smartly.
