The eclectic crew of the free merchant Kukuri seeks their fortunes among the turbulent space lanes of the sub-sector known as the Lurian Trailing Cluster. Saddled with debt, the crew must choose their jobs and employers with care so as not to get pulled under by the turbulent currents of interstellar politics. The region is rife with competing factions struggling for dominance in a sector still clawing its way back from the brink of a civilization-shattering cataclysm.

Forging bonds with new allies, finding new rivals, and making discoveries, the crew's bonds with one another will be tested in the deadly void of space as they seek relics and clues to the past while playing a deadly game of cat and mouse with an old nemesis.
